Meeting with Librarians' Association on WIkipedia Library Project

Background

In continuation to the discussions with the librarians in the past two months, this event was organised by Pune University Library & Information Science Alumni Association (PULISAA). Here, about 50 active librarians from various institutes across state came together. We discussed Wikipedia Library Project after presentation & Q/A session in Pune university. It was decided to start with 1lib1ref campaign in few libraries. The librarians from NCL, Gokhale Institute and Pune University are eager to implement some activities on pilot basis this year.

Goals

1. To introduce Wikipedia as an encyclopedia for research and a concept to new editors.
2. To Promote Marathi Wikipedia Community & promote the use of regional languages in Wikipedia.
3. To have an open interaction within the editors, existing as well as new.
4. To spread the awareness of Wikipedia as a powerful tool.
