Meta:Requests for adminship/Aphaia
- The following discussion is preserved as an archive of a closed Meta-Wiki request. Please do not modify it.
I am active on several wiki, mainly on Japanese projects, and an admin on ja.wikiquote (history). On meta my major concerns are multilingualsation, collaboration between projects and publification mainly on the WMF site. So occasionally I check meta recent changes for vandalism. Recently we have vandalism on meta also in Japanese. I would like give a help to fight against them. --Aphaia 04:31, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)

- Support. Her fluent english, her very good german - and I do not know how many other languages she knows - speak for the abilty to communicate to other projects and to other Wikipedians outside Japan (this she has done already on the german Wikipedia, etc.). I know her as a gentle, prudent, intelligent, helpful, etc. person (I know more positve adjectices for her but I stick to the most important in order not to write a novel here). If she is unsure she tries to talk to qualified people asking for help and helps people with questions they can not answer. This symbiosis helps a lot on the german Wiki Reader Japan and on many other projects. This intercommunication is the most admirable thing only few people have. --Paddy 23:19, 20 Dec 2004 (UTC)

- Support. With her knowing of so many languages the communication with "normal"-user should be easy and a helping for the user, who doesn't speak english very well, too. --DaB. 21:28, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)

editComment. She failed to be a sysop of Japanese Wikipedia twice, first as KIZU and secondly as Aphaia (ja:Wikipedia:管理者への立候補). It seems to me that main reasons for the first rejection were simultaneous use of the controversial username "名無しさん" and a turmoil she created at Japanese Wiktionary. The sock puppet and her assertive personality were concerned at the second vote. For Japanese Wikiquote her adminship was temporarily given and formalized with only four members getting involved in the procedure. 개구리 15:04, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)
