Meta:Requests for adminship/Mardetanha

Self-nomination.i have been into meta since some month's ago , and up to this moment i had plenty of edit which is around 300 hundered in meta.i am admin on fawiki fawikt and fawikiq and wikimania for helping to fingt vandals.and recent otrs member. i think as a jimmy said"I just wanted to say that becoming a sysop is *not a big deal*" adminship is not big deal"
So I would like sysop tools mostly for dealing with vandalism (I often come across vandals that I am unable to stop), as well helping out with any administrator backlogs.I am also on IRC for a few hours each day, so I can easily be contacted there.at the end i think it would a good time for me to serve here as sysop.--Mardetanha talk 16:35, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Oppose - I'm not really happy about all your RfAs on the above mentioned wikis since most were done on wikis that were very much inactive and which really didn't need sysops and the method in which it was done really did confuse all the stewards, so I'm not really going to support you yet, we already have one farsi speaking admin on Meta, and I haven't heard of any administrator backlogs on Meta or vandalism spree yet..sorry..--Cometstyles 21:16, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Good translation work for which many thanks. However there is no real work in areas that would require admin tools as far as I can see. No vandalism reverts & just three pages tagged for deletion. Based on what I have seen of you I see no need for admin tools & so find myself agreeing with Comet. I Oppose for now, thanks --Herby talk thyme 07:01, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Support I know Mardetanha throw his activities in Persian wikis. I believe he is trusted and qualified in that user communities. I hope to see acceptable activities on meta. Sajad 14:59, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Support I share the qualms that Cometstyles mentioned above, but I guess fawiki is not such a small community and obviously you are interested in doing administrative stuff, so why not here too. --Thogo (talk) 09:56, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose. I would be extremely happy to see another Persian speaking admin on Meta. You've done much good work everywhere, but frankly, your admin experience is limitted to the few months you've been an admin on Fa Wikipedia (other wikis on which you're an admin don't give you much experience). Also, you're still not good with some other things you've done on meta: Your translations are not good, a previous request of yours resulted in much confusion of Stewards. So in short, although I believe you're a good user and you'll get a Meta adminship sooner or later (and if you fail this nomination, I may nominate you later myself) I think now is too soon for you to get an adminship here. You need to get more familiarized with traditions and policies. Huji 13:45, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose mainly per Cometstyles and also because adminship on Meta could be a big deal: a single mistake can affect hundreds of wikis. --Brownout(msg) 15:16, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Support, maybe there're no backlogs and we already have one Farsi-speaking admin, but that's not a reason — VasilievV 2 15:45, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose, per Brownout. Meta has various pages that can potentially cause problems for most of Wikimedia's projects if they are mishandled. Nakon 01:34, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Support, I hesitated long here. While some things of the opposers might be right, he is always willing to help and to learn. Actions on Meta have great impact, but too many people are watching! I hope he will not be one of the admins complaining there is nothing to do on Meta ;) --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| ∇ 20:34, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- I'd dispute this vote - before today, this editor last edited in 2006, so not knowing the user isn't a fair reason to oppose someone. Majorly (talk) 22:44, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
