Hello Wikimedians. I would like to apply for regular adminship on Meta. I plan on using the tools to attend to maintenance related tasks, in addition to deletions, protections, and other requests such as META:RFH. I am an admin on Commons (since 2010) and on English Wikipedia (since 2016). I've decided to apply for adminship here when I realized that I cannot speedily perform admin tasks on pages of Usergroup Sri Lanka, which I currently lead. Thank you for considering. Yours truly, Rehman 07:14, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose Trusted I'm sure but 300 Meta edits since 2009 and 100 (roughly in the past year). Sorry but no --Herby talk thyme 09:14, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hey Herby. Thanks for your comment. I'd like to point out that I created the usergroup in 2016, and only started pushing the usergroup activities to encourage more participation within the past year. Therefore you are correct, I do not have much contributions prior to that. Regards, Rehman 09:36, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose I would like to see you more involved in the administrative tasks that are performed daily in Meta (such as marking pages for deletion or reverting editions), additionally the statement is not very convincing. —AlvaroMolina (✉ - ✔) 00:41, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
- Question: If you become a regular admin on meta, you are expected to also do other administrative actions than on your user group pages. Are you aware of that? Trijnsteltalk 10:35, 17 February 2018 (UTC)
- @User:Trijnstel. Yes, of course. I didn't consider applying before as back then I knew that I will be accessing meta less frequently. Now that I have more reasons to be here, I am willing to pitch in wherever necessary. Rehman 12:36, 17 February 2018 (UTC)
- The Sri Lanka user group pages have been responsible for only ~25 deletions in the last two years; I'm not sure that we need a dedicated admin for that. If you are requesting full adminship, then I would like to see some broader and more active participation on Meta. I don't expect Meta admins to be super-active here, but some activity and understanding of how things are done here is a reasonable basic standard IMO. – Ajraddatz (talk) 01:32, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose Not seeing a demonstrated need at the moment. Nihlus 22:01, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
- Neutral: Per Ajraddatz, I think Rehman need more active participation on Meta-Wiki, not the time to be one of a local regular admin at this moment. SA 13 Bro (talk) 22:31, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
Closed as unsuccessful. There's no consensus to promote Rehman as a local admin. Please take into account above comments, if you want to re-request local adminship in the future. Matiia (talk) 19:25, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
