We need a translation admin to help us update the translate mark up

Hi,

Please help us to update our chapter meta page so we can inform the public about the latest news of Wikimedia Taiwan. Thank you.

Template:Nutshell: migrate to translation?

While translating WMF Global Ban Policy/es I detect that the template text is not translated in part. Maybe we should support it be included using TNT/Dynamite as we did with others? Thanks. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 12:00, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

FuzzyBot don't have User page on fr.wiktionary

Seems a bug occured, fr:wikt:Utilisateur:FuzzyBot have no presentation page. One of our contributor said it should have been automatically transcluded/imported from Meta's User:FuzzyBot page. I let you investigate and solve the problem.
Also let you know we launch the process to get it bot flagged on our project : fr:wikt:Wiktionnaire:Bots/Statut/FuzzyBot. V!v£ l@ Rosière /Murmurer…/ 21:03, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

@Vive la Rosière: None of the other projects that use the translate extension display the global userpage either. I suspect that it's because this is not a "real" user account but who can best answer this is Legoktm. Regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 12:03, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
Allright, our bad, we made a wrong supposition. Anyway it's not a big deal ; for now I will just copy-paste its user page here to over there. Cheers. V!v£ l@ Rosière /Murmurer…/ 12:17, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
PS : It's me again. I'm actually editing it's user page over there and I just notice on meta that its Talk page redirect here. So I understand the whole project use the bot but does it means also that the whole project is able to do maintenance or treat possible technical issues concerning the bot ? I mean in case of "urgency" is it here the good place to ask? or else there are some kind of technical bot's owner to contact straightly in priority? Thanks by advance. V!v£ l@ Rosière /Murmurer…/ 13:00, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
For whatever reason, the accounts are not linked via CentralAuth, so GlobalUserPage doesn't kick in... Legoktm (talk) 20:01, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
Special:CentralAuth/FuzzyBot looks okay to me Legoktm. I now see global userpages in en:User:FuzzyBot and sewikimedia:User:FuzzyBot. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 07:27, 15 January 2018 (UTC)

Change "Voire" by "Voir" plz

Where or how can I edit that page : MediaWiki:Centralnotice-wm2018scholarcfp2-text2/fr. Please correct this urgently : « Voire » (wtf!!? seriously) by « Voir ». It currently burns the eyes of thousands of French people ; the translator responsible for this blunder should no longer take care of French banners imho. To understand how ridiculous this mistake is, let say it's a bit like if someone put « Sea » instead of « See » on the english bannier. Thank you by advance. V!v£ l@ Rosière /Murmurer…/ 09:24, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi, the message was corrected already (it's possible here), but was not published yet (now done). Only Meta-Wiki administrators or central notice admins can publish translations to cnbanners. Stryn (talk) 11:13, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

Grants:IEG/106 When do we see the button for renewal request?

Translations:Grants:IEG/106/en reads:

In the final grant report, you'll find a button to submit a renewal request. This should be created as soon after you submit the final report as possible.

Does it mean the said button is not visible until you submit the final report? --Omotecho (talk) 18:40, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

Grants page; how can tranlate a message box?

Hi, this is Omotecho (talk) and I wish you would assign Grants:Start and message box to close TPS page for translation; unfortunately, I don’t have the rights. Or does the message box show in any language page? It doesn’t on Japanese translation page, and I wish to work on it in time for the closure. Could you assign the added part for translation please? Sorry I have to bother you. Best, Omotecho (talk) 03:32, 14 March 2018 (UTC) Omotecho (talk) 03:32, 14 March 2018 (UTC)

Need help on doing the Xiao'erjing Wikipedia!

Hello again, I am Muso Kortjass, I was wondering some languages of China have their own Wikipedia at the expense of the Sichuan Yi Wikipedia, Why don't I make Wikipedia in the Xiao'erjing language? Thank you! — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Muso Sholban (talk) 13:47, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

Knock yourself out. (It's in Cyrillic instead of Arabic, but you can probably transliterate it yourself...) KATMAKROFAN (talk) 00:23, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
On the same subject, what would be the required language proficiency for someone to start a wiki in a minor language/dialect? I feel like making one myself to help safeguard dying languages. Cheers! Double Plus Ungood (talk) 00:34, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

Need bot for jbowiki

I need code for a bot to create articles for cities and species automatically on w:jbo:. Does anyone around here have the Lsjbot code? KATMAKROFAN (talk) 00:31, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

In order to use Lsjbot, you would need community consensus on Lojban Wikipedia to implement it first. Start a discussion there. If you need the bot code, message Lsj at his Cebuano Wikipedia talk page.

Also, what happened? I thought you were against both Lsjbot and Lojban... DraconicDark (talk) 01:15, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

Update needs translate tag

Could somebody with admin rights please tag the update for translation? Appreciate your help. ----Omotecho (talk) 14:31, 27 April 2018 (UTC)

Done with translation admin rights :) Stryn (talk) 16:04, 27 April 2018 (UTC)
thank you, and translation finished. Cheers,----Omotecho (talk) 16:52, 28 April 2018 (UTC)

I created {{localized entity link}}, which is an equivalent of {{localized link}} ({{ll}}) for linking to a translation of a Wikidata item/entity in the user's language.

Examples:

  • {{localized entity link | Q321}} => (pt) Via Láctea
  • {{localized entity link | Q321 | notre galaxie}} => (fr) notre galaxie

If no translation is found, it defaults to a fallback language.

I'm not sure whether this is useful or whether it's a solution in search of a problem, but here it is. There should probably be a shortcut redirect like "ll" but I'll leave it up to other people to choose what to use. (Or, just don't create one if the template is not useful.) /en subpages and FuzzyBot

A few days ago I've made a change to Steward requests/Global/Header, but FuzzyBot still hasn't updated the /en subpage as it has done before. The translation interface doesn't allow translation from English to English, and I'm not an admin, so I cannot update it myself. Should I wait, or is this a problem with FuzzyBot that should be fixed? --bdijkstra (talk) 12:00, 15 August 2018 (UTC)

You just have to wait for a translation admin to review the changes (I did it now). --Nemo 12:18, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
Thanks. --bdijkstra (talk) 09:45, 16 August 2018 (UTC)

Rename “2017 Community_Wishlist_Survey”

Thank you to moving pages into systematic maned pages; I wish you will move 2017 Community Wishlist Survey to Community Wishlist Survey 2017 with its Talk page. Very important task you support translators as myself, that bigger pages are mich easier to work on while translation extension functions properly. Cheers, --Omotecho (talk) 12:42, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

The Community Wishlist Survey

Hi,

You get this message because you’ve previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey. I just wanted to let you know that this year’s survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until 11 November: Community Wishlist Survey 2019.

You can vote from November 16 to November 30. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won’t send out a separate reminder to you about that. /Johan (WMF) 11:23, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
