Prioritization
editPlease note: A2K will play a dual-role in the strategy implementation. As a movement partner, A2K would like to support work around the recommendations that an affiliate/community in India would like to work on. Other than these, there are some of the recommendations we would like to work directly in our programmes and plans. We'll closely monitor the needs of the communities, and our plans will be designed accordingly. |
Q1. Which recommendations will respond to your community’s needs?
editChoose Your Top Priorities | Why is it prioritized? |
---|---|
Example: recommendation 2, improve user experience | Example: Having a more engaging interface will excite more people from our community to want to contribute to Wikimedia projects. |
1. Recommendation 6. Invest in Skills and Leadership Development | Skill-builiding activities are helpful to bring community leaders, improve content, and strengthen communities, and individuals. We'll continue to initiate and support different skill-building activities. In the upcoming years, we'll focus more on online training, and workshops. |
2. Recommendation 7. Manage Internal Knowledge | With a large number of active communities, projects, and dedicated communities working around, we have extensive and diverse internal knowledge. A2K, after working for a few years to support to serve the communities, has gained some experience. We would definitely like to systematically document our learning, knowledge and work along with communities and individuals to support plans and activities around this recommendation. |

Q2.From the recommendations, which specific actions and changes would you want prioritized in 2021?
editChoose Your Top Priorities | Why is it prioritized? |
---|---|
Example: recommendation 2, improve user experience | Example: Having a more engaging interface will excite more people from our community to want to contribute to Wikimedia projects. |
1. Recommendation 8. Identify topics of impact | Over the years, we have seen communities working on and creating free content on different topics and we have seen more awareness in Indian communities to fight against fake news. We would like to support community's plans around this and we can try to connect with subject-experts, institutions, grass-root practitioners as mentors or provide resources support such as books, resource material etc. |
2. Recommendation 1. Increase the Sustainability of Our Movement | A2K thinks that this is an important recommendation. Sustainability is an important requirement for hard-working Wikimedians, and communities/affiliates. We would like to support this in India, following NGO's rules and regulations, and WMF's advice/support |

Q3. What human capacity and / or financial resources do you need to work on implementation?
editThink of your existing resources, the movement’s vast resources, and the support infrastructure you may need for moving ideas forward.
- Co-ordination with Wikimedia Foundation and their suggestion and advice.
- As we get a grant from APG, other than that we do not have any other financial requirement to initiate/support plans/activities.
Q4. Which initiatives do you think should be the top focus for global coordination?
editThink global, movement-wide changes needed.
