Topics covered

edit

The conversation focused on two major import issues:

1. Discussion on the Hub

edit

For this first point, Derrick and Valentin presented the Central hub initiative(Mama hub). After a thorough understanding of the subject, each participant was able to express his or her point of view.

At the end of the discussions, we came to the following conclusions:

.For the Africa Great Lakes hub, we think a central hub(Mama Hub) would be an excellent idea. However, it is not yet urgent to set it up, as the majority of hubs in Africa are still in the pilot stage. It is therefore preferable to take the time needed to ensure the smooth running of these hubs before considering the implementation of the Mama Hub initiative in the future.

2. MSIG Phase 2 timelines

edit

We also revisited our phase2 calendar and decided to make adjustements since the ongoing political crisis in the region limited some activities.

3. Completion of second phase activities

edit

On the second point, we discussed the finalization of activities linked to the second phase of our project. The following decisions were taken:

Organize two sessions on Leadership development & Africa growth webinar. To plan face-to-face workshops for Africa growth as well as on photography and Wikimedia Commons in Rwanda (Kigali), DRC (Goma and Bukavu), while taking into account the security situation in the east of the country, which could lead us to organize these workshops in other cities or online. A workshop is also scheduled in Burundi (Bujumbura). The new schedule is as follows:
