Proposals for closing projects/Closure of Gujarati Wiktionary

This is a proposal for closing and/or deleting a wiki hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation. It is subject to the current closing projects policy.

The proposal for closing wikt:gu: is rejected and the project will be kept open.

  • A Language Committee member provided the following comment:
"Speedy" closure. This will not result in a closure of the wiki. There is no "absence of content since the wiki's creation" as would be required for a "type 1" proposal. --MF-W 20:08, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal

edit

There is almost no activity on GU Wiktionary. See also Closure of Gujarati Wikibooks. No significant content is being created. It should be sent back to the Incubator unless a genuine community who just not only propose to contribute and vote in meta but in reality not active in the real project. That reality check can be done in the incubator. Thank you for understanding. --ꠢꠣꠍꠘ ꠞꠣꠎꠣ (talk) 08:14, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

Comment There's one sysop @KartikMistry: on that wiki, but I'm not sure whether that guy is still active or not, their last edit happened 3 months ago, and barely seen their admin-only actions such as block, protect, delete... Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 07:55, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Re: admin actions, we don't have any such events like spamming/vandalism happening since it is low activity project. I deleted some useless pages in the past already -- KartikMistry (talk) 04:47, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose There is no need to close this project, it is well used (although not active as it used to be!), but community along with active Gujarati Wikipedia, we are planning some activities to bring it back to active life. -- KartikMistry (talk) 16:04, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose I don't agree with your opinion. We are fewer editors. Due to being active on Gujarati Wikipedia and Wikisource (including English Wikipedia, Commons and Wikidata) we as a community diverted from Gujarati Wiktionary this year. But don't be in hurry to delete the entire project. I am the most word creator to Wiktionary. [1] and personally want one-year time to let it be resurvive. Give us a year. if even after a year, this project looks like a dead, then we will reconsider deleting the project. Snehrashmi (talk) 03:58, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
