The result was Move to its current location. CycloneGU 00:14, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Florida is a danger zone, with hurricanes and being the southern tip of a country that is in three wars. Move the servers to somewhere in Canada. Toronto is too populated, however. Whitehorse sounds good.
- Support Makes perfect sense to me. :) Avicennasis 00:17, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support - The United States has been too hostile a nation to our services lately, especially what with the issue with our founder, Julius and the lead WMF project, Wikileaks being attacked both legally and technically by the U.S. government. Kylu 00:30, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- If the government can be in contempt of parliament and get away with it then the servers should be moved to a base built in the Rockies, perhaps near Kamloops because anything is possible in Canada and there are never any consequences because things never go wrong here. It would also go a long way to making the WikiMediaWorld not so American. Mon nom est Jessica et je suis Ontarienne et le soutien i cette motion avec des arachides et crèmes glacées pour tout le monde parce que la saison de base-ball a a commencé.Vive la République! God Save Us From The King to be. The servers shall be our stone of destiny. It shall be reciprocity for forcing the Ottawa Senators out of the NHL in the mid-1930s. Along with the servers we shall take Alaska sans the Palins. delirious & lost ☯ ~hugs~ 03:01, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Perhaps Canada's copyright laws are more liberal :) -- Bojan Talk 05:28, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support I'm sure it MUST be cheaper than anywhere in America. Other possible locations should include the middle of trans-atlantic cable with a custom data center! VibroAxe 07:04, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Strongly support!!! Kenrick95 09:49, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support As a resident of Canada, I'd like to recommend near the Arctic Circle as it would save on cooling fans in the server room. With the amount of money saved, we might get less pleas for money.
- Support So Quebec can claim they need their own wiki. :P -- DQ (t) (e) 20:16, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Oppose because Canada is too close to the U.S. for my tastes. I think a more reasonable destination would be Sealand. harej 01:03, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Whitehorse is as far from the continental U.S. as you can get. The exception is Alaska. CycloneGU 01:36, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- OMG LOL FAIL, don't you know Alaska is part of the United States!!!1! Kylu 03:09, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- The Moon would be a better place. It is protected by international treaty. Set it up at a pole with solar power. Ping time would be 4 seconds, so a good CDN would be important. -- Ke4roh 01:03, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Luna's a bit expensive to run optical fibers to, though. I propose we go with Resolute, where we'll be able to switch over to solar power during the summer months. Server room cooling costs are also eliminated. Bob the Wikipedian 15:15, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Yeah, sure, I can host the servers at my apartment. I doubt the neighbours will mind, and if they do, will be too polite to complain. Resolute 20:03, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Dude, you live on the moon? UPS delivery has to be insane. o.o; Kylu 20:29, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Canada is a large country (despite of course it's a small one compared to Russia), so it's too vague proposal. We should define a precise geolocation first. I think 50°N 100°W would be just fine. Dr Bug (Vladimir V. Medeyko) 21:49, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- It will be better to move servers to Zimbabwe - it is a very democratic country with highly developed economics, wise rulers, high technologies, considerable respect for human rights, no conflicts with any countries - more better than USA and Canada! :) --Postoronniy-13 22:25, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- If you want to go to Africa, I hear Nigeria has a wonderful fraud prevention program that could help cut down on vandalism. Bob the Wikipedian 00:05, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
