Summary of Discussion

edit
  • Manavpreet, member of the user group reminded the community that the user group has not submitted the report for the financial year 2020 and 2021. So everyone should take this work seriously.
  • Referring to the various ongoing projects in the community, she also said that the group should apply for the annual grant instead of having various individual grant projects. It reflects our collective and also avoids conflicts of personal interest. It is also important for the development of the community.
  • Speaking about FCRA here, Manavpreet also informed the community that there have been changes in some of the financial rules for any kind of international grant of which she is not fully aware. Then It was decided by all the members that the community hold a meeting with the grant team formed by the Wikimedia Foundation to enlighten them regarding the issue. If community need and agree to it, they might have any legal advisor in future.
  • Satdeep Gill also expressed concern that if that happened then the community would have to consider whether to seek individual grants or community grants.
  • Jagsir Sidhu shared the work done under the ongoing Audio Books program in the community. He also shared the information that a training workshop would be held in this regard.
  • Gaurav Jhammat informed the community about the meeting with the grant team related to the Punjabi Wiki Policies project and the changes that he has received suggestions from the grant team. The project seeks to develop Punjabi wiki policies as well as a Punjabi community coordinator.
  • On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, Nitesh Gill informed the community about the ongoing Edit-thon on the same day and informed the community about the upcoming events Art and Feminism and Women's Week next iterations. Anyone also can help to organize it.
  • Finally, after discussing various issues, it was felt that the next meeting should be held soon so that the community could once again consult in writing the annual report.
