Abstract:
- This session will detail a proposal for policies protecting minorities on Wikimedia projects. Participants will learn about historical efforts to create similar policies, about how the lack of a policy impacts the LGBT community, and the solution we developed to fix this problem. We aim to receive plentiful feedback, suggestions, and support to help spur this on the path to ratification as a policy.
- First portion of presentation - The presentation will review historical efforts, current status of conduct-related policies, and details of the document drafted to first be implemented in the English Wikipedia.
- Second portion of presentation - We go around the room for anyone to call out what special considerations they would want for a non-discrimination policy, along with advice on implementation, recommendations on enforcement, and any other critique.
