Reports/October 2004/Wikibooks

Activity is relatively low. A few registered users startet the main page and a few bookshelves back in august and september, but they have not been active since. Presently there is only one book with some useable content - it is a general book about using worksheets and it was startet by an anonymous user who has also supplied the content. Apart from that the main activity in october has been meta work by user Christian S (me) who has also been made admin/bureaucrat. All messages in the MediaWiki namespace has been translated, and I have now started to work at the various project pages. Christian S 19:44, 9 Nov 2004 (UTC)

In addition to textbooks on various aspects of science, history, technology and linguistics, the English Wikibooks has a burgeoning Cookbook, as well as nascent strategy guides and game manuals, voter's guides, field guides and a comprehensive dichotomous key. Perhaps most importantly, we have also been working on a project called Wikiversity, which will collect teaching materials, such as study guides, exam questions and answers and lesson plans, in an easy-to-use format. Wikibooks in French started to have some regular contributions. There is now a news page. This month, subjects developed were Programmation in C, Linux certification courses, Hindi courses, LaTeX, etc.

There seems to be no activity. Gentgeen

The Russian Wikibooks is alive and well, with active editing of wikibooks on many subjects, such as Toki Pona and Theoretical Mathematics. Gentgeen

Some activity. Mats Halldin and Solkoll made some edits in the beginning of the month. After that, there were mostly a few minor and meta edits. The activity is still low. Väsk 18:18, 9 Nov 2004 (UTC)
