Requests for comment/Language proposal policy

Having looked at the kind of strict Language proposal policy, plus the many rejected requests for new languages, I feel sorry for many of the proposer for what I think is this ridiculous policy, a lot of the requests are legitimate languages, but the only reason that they are rejected is that they have no ISO 639-3 code, I think we should not make that a requirement, since many of them are actual languages and not dialects, I think even dialects should be given a chance if they are not easily distinguishable for whatever reason. The other point I would like to make is the one about dead languages, there are enough articles at the Ancient Greek test Wikipedia to get it out of the incubator, once again, this ridiculous policy is preventing it from moving out of the Incubator. --TheChampionMan1234talken-wiki 03:34, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- I disagree; I think the current policy is sufficient to weed out ridiculous wikis like the Klingon Wikipedia, and a few more contentious ones like the "Siberian Wikipedia". The Language committee has been thinking about revising some of their rules, even given how lax they are right now, to include other wikis like Simple German Wikipedia given the precedent of our preexisting Simple English Wikipedia (which also currently occupies the "simple" language prefix). - I have moved your comment to the 'Discussion' section in order to avoid confusion, so when you say you disagree, you mean you disagree with my comment or the current policy, because I'm a bit confused. --TheChampionMan1234talken-wiki 05:30, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Apologies, I mean to say I support the current policy as it is. TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 16:01, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
