  • Notes/comments: (only native speakers and inhabitants of East Germany please)
    • A language spoken in East Germany, with more than 16.000.000 speakers. I'm a native speaker of east german language and could "translate" from German into DDR-Sprache. GDR 9 Nov 2004
      • That's nonsense: There is no "East German language". They had some faculties, that didn't exist in West Germany (e.g Staatssicherheit) and sometimes created abbreviations for them (e.g. Stasi). There are also some dialects (like in all countries of the world), but there is no East Germany dialect, the dialects differ (in Saxony, Berlin, etc). If you look at de:DDR-Sprache in deep, you see that some "GDR words" are simply abbreviations, some are slang expressions (some in fact unknown to most East Germans), others are simply regional dialects. There are only very few words, that were created and common in the GDR and expressed something, that also exists in other parts of the world. An "East German Wikipedia" would be the "de.wikipedia" with very few words changed (far less than 0.1%).
    • I agree: Pure nonsense -- de:Benutzer:Necrophorus
    • I think the same like Necrophorus de:Benutzer:Filzstift
    • I also: It's a stupid Idea --de:Benutzer:Wilhans
    • Would not say stupid but not suficient for a whole independent wikipedia. Its not at all only 0,1%, as there is a whole wordbook for GDR-german (Fix, Ulla/ Schröder, Marianne: Allgemeinwortschatz der DDR-Bürger. Heidelberg 1997.) and another wordbook (Ahrends, Martin: Wörterbuch der DDR-Sprache. München 1986) And remember de:Stefan Heym who called the language DDRsch. It may be not a language but something like a regional-language or dialect. But as I said: not suficient to be as distinct as for example the lower-german-wikipedia from the German one. • absolut bullshit There's no such "language". The language of the GDR (DDR) was GERMAN, nothing else and it's also not a dialect. Sächsisch is a dialect, "DDR-isch" is not. The only difference is that the leaders of the gdr wanted to be diffrent than the capitalist states, but changing 100 words via a law is no new language or a dialect. --de:Benutzer:¡0-8-15!
Wrong 0815, I am sorry, but DDRsch was not just the formal language changed by the regime, but also the language spoken. Its as well german as austrian german is or higher standardized swiss german is. There are some words, who are made official and many who are living words. Perhaps you see that "Plaste" is a DDRsch word but western germans say "Plastik". That was living DDR-language, not just dialect. But as I said before, its not well enough researched and so not sufficient for a whole wikipedia. Tiontai 06:47, 12 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hallo! Könntest du bitte ein zweisprachiges Beispiel DDR-Deutsch vs Westdeutsch anzeigen? Ich bin besonders neugierig! Danke schön. Mit sozialistischem Gruß. Skafa 22:03, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Tiontai

  • support maybe what could be done is that someone may click a "simple version/versión simple" of each article within the :es encyclopedia and it would give a version of the article written at a 4th grade level, for example newspapers in the united states are actually written a a 4th grade level so anyone can understand. for example.

" Anna Eleanor Roosevelt (11 de octubre de 1884 - 7 de noviembre de 1962) Primera Dama estadounidense. Esposa del Presidente de los Estados Unidos Franklin Delano Roosevelt, diplomática y activista por los derechos humanos. Una de las mujeres que más ha influido en el siglo XX. También fue la mujer estadounidense que más tiempo ha permanecido como Primera Dama. " could be simplified to:

any big words, foreign words, complicated numbering/titling, esoteric terms and jargon should be featured «between parenthases» and explaned and dumbed down to a 4ht graders level and then they might get more of a sense of the Common version. A child or recent emigreé or teacher trying to understand their hispanic students report on Rigoberta Menchú or the city of Trujillo, Perú for instance wouldnt have to look up in the case of this sample "diplimática/diplomat" "derechos humanos/human rights" "primera dama/first lady" and "la casa blanca/the white house" individually they would see them all at once braceted and explained in parenthases and clearly distinguishable by their italics they could then click back to the regular version and perhaps better understand the material, a child might not lose interest and hopefully learn more advanced topics and vocabulary while not getting bored stumped or disinterested. using more picture or bigger default type might also be helpful. if successful maybe :simple should simply be merged into english

and a click bar on top near edit could say create simplified version/crear versión simplificada

any thoughts?? Qrc2006 01:00, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
