FWIW, somebody mentioned this on the Langcom list as a constructed language. This is NOT a constructed language. It is the real language spoken on Jeju Island in Korea, usually classified as a dialect. There are Wikipedia articles on it.
Korean Wikipedia uses Standard Language (표준어) of S. Korea and Culture Language (문화어) of N. Korea. However, this wikipedia will use Jeju dialect or language. Jeju dialect is very different from other Korean dialects (including Seoul and Pyongyang dialects). Therefore Jeju people use archaic hangul letter, 'ㆍ' (arae-a) and 'ᅟᆢ' (ssang-arae-a).

Arguments in favour
- support I support it, but I worried about are there many users to make and manage this wikipedia. --Masoris 14:03, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- support I also support it because it's language contains vocabulary and grammar slightly different (such Mongol derived words) from standard Korean, but on the other hand ifollow Masoris'ideas too.Whlee 15:00, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Arguments against
There is no ISO 639 code for Jeju is there ? GerardM 06:57, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Jeju language/dialect doesn't have its own language code like Ryukyuan languages. But the region "Jeju Special Autonomous Province" has its own ISO 3166-2:KR code "KR-49". Yes0song 12:55, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ryukyuan languages have their own separate codes -- Amami, for example, is ryn. I would strongly support this request if there are native speakers to support it. --Node ue 23:09, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- ISO-3166 is not a language code. GerardM 20:56, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- The last discussion was about 9 years ago, but now there is ISO code for Jeju language, which is jje. --고솜 (talk) 15:10, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
- @고솜: If you're still interesting on it, feel free to create the 2nd request. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 02:51, 31 December 2017 (UTC)
