Requests for new languages/Wikipedia Kirmanjki
Kirmanjki (Northern Zazaki) Wikipedia
submitted | verification | final decision |
|
This language has been verified as eligible. The language is eligible for a project, which means that the subdomain can be created once there is an active community and a localized interface, as described in the language proposal policy. You can discuss the creation of this language project on this page. Once the criteria are met, the language committee can proceed with the approval and will verify the test project content with a reliable neutral source, such as a professor or expert. If you think the criteria are met, but the project is still waiting for approval, feel free to notify the committee and ask them to consider its approval. |
- The community needs to develop an active test project; it must remain active until approval (automated statistics, recent changes). It is generally considered active if the analysis lists at least three active, not-grayed-out editors listed in the sections for the previous few months.
- The community needs to complete required MediaWiki interface translations in that language (about localization, translatewiki, check completion).
- The community needs to discuss and complete the settings table below:

- Support: Native speakers of Kirmanjki are willing to contribute to this project in the long-term, hence this project has the potential to flourish like the other Indo-Iranian language Wikipedia editions such as Kurdish, Gilaki etc. Therefore the Kirmanjki language ought to be given the opportunity and priviledge to have its own language edition of Wikipedia. --Jose77 08:02, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- Support : The opening of this Wikipedia for Kirmanjki (Northern Zazaki) is very important to protect the northern dialect of the Zazaki language. --Belekvor 23:29, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

- Support - I wholeheartedly support the openning of a Kirmanjki Wikipedia. The Kirmanjki (Northern Zazaki) is a rich and beautiful language. It would be very nice if this project would be granted in the near future. --Kagan 03:29, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Arguments against
General discussion
- According to Ethnologue the name of the language is Kirmanjki.. Not Northern Zazaki. I do urge you to rename the request. GerardM 07:26, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- The name of the language and its description is now considered to be Kirmanjki.. GerardM 22:31, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure whether it's written in the correct language/dialect, per controversy about Requests for comments/Zazaki wikipedia. [btw, this is just an informative notice, not an opinion or so]. SPQRobin (inc!) 18:14, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- Dear SPQRobin, I assure you it is written in the correct language/dialect, and no in other standard form of Zazaki, not in the variant of Zaza Language Institut(The request of this group is already rejected by language subcommittee) nor in the variant of Vate (The Vate group has made no request so far). --Mirzali 10:37, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Localisation update
- Currently 0.00% of the most used MediaWiki messages have been localised. Localisation of these messages is a requirement before your request is finally assessed. This is the recent localisation activity for your language. Thanks, GerardM 12:27, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
