Comments: We have vocabulary of 20 000 and some enthusiasts of this, why not begin? This is language of old siberian turk culture and Yenesey Caganate --Yaroslav Zolotaryov 03:13, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Support
editI Cevair Zufer Muslim Turk from western Balkan born and living in Sweden, supports the idea but we shouldn't call it old turkish as the turkish language and history are much older. cevair@netatonce.net

Support but in that Wikipedia do we use Göktürk alphabet or Latine alphabet?- We are Siberian Turks and we do not know Ottoman. The Old Turkic is our ancient classical language. I suppose better to use latin script, it is more understandable for possible contributors. See the transliteration proposal - http://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Test-WP/yen/Alifba_turkce_latinca
- Ottoman Wikipedia supported. --Yaroslav Zolotaryov 21:34, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- I guess your right. It's unfortunate that many Turks can no longer understand Arabic script.--Fox Mccloud 21:41, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- But if you will open test wiki in incubator, we can organize Turkish Commonwealth just like Slavonians did (http://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Incubator:East_Slavic_Portal), and help each other. --Yaroslav Zolotaryov 21:37, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- I will make a test Wiki, but right now I'm working on gathering support first.--Fox Mccloud 21:41, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

- The official alphabet should real orkhon runiform also for current working may be Latin alphabet based on Turkish one. For transliteration scripts see kk:
- Native name should be Köktürkçe (it is very native name for ethnos and language) not Eski Türkçe thıs one means 'deprecated', sounds silly. English name should be Gokturk (is Latin as Old Italian? is Classic Arabic Old Iraqian? is Sanskrit Old Hindi?)
- Domain and language code preferably should be
kok (this one currently is empty) tr-kokotk - 'Locations spoken= Siberia and Central Asia, 8-13 AC' - it is wrong. Before disfalling 1st Turk Kaganate location is modern Northern China, Mongolia, East Turkistan, Altay and Turkistan. After 2nd Turk Kaganate control territoris from Hingan to Krimea, from Samarcand to Siberia. And time should be 5 century BC (Issyk inscriptions) - 8 century AD (dissolve turk community)
- 'Closely related languages, if any: Tatar, Uigur, Chulym'. Why only Tatar, Uigur, Chulym? It very closely to all turkic languages! --AlefZet 08:08, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- There is such a thing as Köktürkçe (VIII-XI) also known as Kuzey lehçesi and it is part of Eski türkçe so i cant understand what's wrong with Eski türkçe --Nefis 16:38, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- But maybe we should include in the list of languages Kazakh language, native language of Alefzet:-) --Yaroslav Zolotaryov 16:49, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

- But my sources are all about version spoken in Siberia in 8-13 AC. Is this still Gokturk or another language? --Yaroslav Zolotaryov 09:00, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

- Support-- Bumin Kagan, 10:23, 6 november 2012 This language is needed by the people with the number of 200 million people around the world. Propose to resume the discussion on this issue. Because the old Turkic language culturally enrich the encyclopedia. This is consistent with the policy of pluralism. There are also Gothic and other languages. Why not take old Turkic? I'm for it!
- Support -- I strongly support this language.

**Support --(Conditional support) The name "Eski/old" is not indicative for something including language. How old? Remember ; recent studies shows that Etruscan , Summerian ,assyrian and also some native American's languages are (most possibly) Turkish originated languages. (If so,) how we can call appr.20,000 years old languages if we named a a language as "Eski/Old" Turkish. I offer; lets make further studies on Turkish Language and its classification firstly.( I now that this work not so easy under the pressure of cultural imperialism on Turkish languages ). Regards and good luck to all. --Mustafa Akalp 15:59, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Mustafa Akalp 09:58, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
