I would like to propose a wiktionary for the Chilean dialect of Spanish since it is a unique dialect with thousands of variations, vernaculars, terms, and words differant from standard spaniard argentine and mexican. For example:

  • Beans=Frijoles=Porotos
  • Bananas=Platanos=Bananas
  • Kitchentop=Estufa=Cosina
  • Heater=Calentór=Estufa
  • Corn=Maíz=Choclo
  • Private=Privado=Particular
  • Cherry=Ceresa=Güinda
  • Strawberry=Fresas=Frutillas

these are just a few see also en:Chilean Spanish for a more thoughough list, furthermore many words exist the same but with differant pronunciations.67.150.253.216 05:52, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Against

  1. Oppose Add those words to the Spanish Wiktionary. Spanish is not the only polycentric language. American and Britain English can also coexist in one Wiktionary. --::Slomox:: >< 14:44, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose per above. By the way, the correct spellings are plátanos, cocina, cereza and calentador (now that I think of it, I have heard the word calentor -spelled without acute accent- in some occasions :-). - Ev 17:04, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Oppose per Slomox. --Taichi - (あ!) 20:30, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Oppose I totally agree with Slomox --Cvmontuy 20:46, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  5. N Oppose Lin linao 21:27, 23 November 2006 (UTC) I'm a speaker of both Chilean Spanish and Chilote Spanish and this is a nonsense. Wikcionario is made for all Spanish dialects, you can check. Furthermore, the words above are wrongly spelled and many of them are used in Argentina or Peru and others only in some parts of Chile. Chilean Spanish evolves in a astonishing speed, maybe in 100 years , we should vote again.[reply]
Soy hablante nativo de español chilote y he aprendido el español chileno por la continua exposición a él. El Wikcionario está hecho para registrar todas las variantes del castellano, ustedes mismos pueden revisarlo. Esta propuesta no tiene sentido, además las palabras están mal escritas, no son exclusivas de Chile o sólo lo son de alguna zona del país. A la velocidad de cambio de este dialecto, quizá en 100 años más las cosas sean diferentes.
