This language has been verified as eligible. The language is eligible for a project, which means that the subdomain can be created once there is an active community and a localized interface, as described in the language proposal policy. You can discuss the creation of this language project on this page. Once the criteria are met, the language committee can proceed with the approval. If you think the criteria are met, but the project is still waiting for approval, feel free to notify the committee and ask them to consider its approval. |
- The community needs to develop an active test project; it must remain active until approval (automated statistics, recent changes). It is generally considered active if the analysis lists at least three active, not-grayed-out editors listed in the sections for the previous few months.
- The community needs to complete required MediaWiki interface translations in that language (about localization, translatewiki, check completion).
- The community needs to discuss and complete the settings table below:

Discussion
editArguments in favour
edit- Conservation for present and future references. I think there will be no problem to find native speakers or persons who have enough knowledges of this language.--Kronos 13:26, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
- you can't simply put ligurian words into italian wikitionary because aren't the same language, haven't the same definitions, do have different grammar different pronounce and different alphabet; nonetheless the two languages are distinct and somewhat far from each other. A wikitionary themore would be a reference and a standard de facto to guide ligurian community on lij.wikipedia . A lij.wikitionary could also be very useful as future reference as it's an endangered language prone to substitution with the synthetic italian of nowadays. Kronos 10:09, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- The ligurian is expression of ones of the most ancient and rich culture of the Mediterranean and is currently used by not less that over 300'000 people. The Ligurian Wiktionary will help to preserve our culture. --Gastaz 10:00, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Arguments against
edit- in liguria today everybody speak italian, it's futile a wiktionary in ligure. you can use it.wiktionary and put in words in ligure--Ilaria 13:24, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- Would the Italian Wiktionary accept definitions in Ligurian? As the expected answer is no, you compare functionality that is just not the same. GerardM 06:31, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
- the definitions no, the words yes. but if sadinian wiktionary hasn't contributions since may 27, 2008, how can we hope that this success can have success ? i think it' s not the time for open a wiktionary in ligure--Ilaria 13:42, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

editLocalisation update
edit- Currently 33.10% of the MediaWiki messages and 0.48% of the messages of the extensions used by the Wikimedia Foundation projects have been localised. Localisation of these messages is a requirement before your request is finally assessed. This is the recent localisation activity for your language. Thanks, GerardM 12:58, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
