Research:Ideas/Requests for adminship and the retention of long term editors

This page documents a proposed research project.
Information may be incomplete and may change before the project starts.

The process for requesting adminship and other user rights on English Wikipedia has (anecdotally & quantitatively) become more restrictive over time. The restrictiveness of could be affecting the retention of long-term users or could be systematically biased against certain types of users. I want to use public data to explore this.

Previous work has built models useful for predicting future administrators[1], but that work is quite old (2008) and has not been updated to explore more recent patterns.
