IRSSI / IRC

Done correctly, the results of these instructions will look like this

With irssi you can join multiple IRC channels which allows you to show off the recent changes feed from irc.wikimedia.org . This is often done to join the top 10 language Wikipedia's feeds all at the same time which provides a very impressive update speed.

Short instructions:

Install irssi
Launch irssi
/connect irc.wikimedia.org
/join -window #en.wikipedia,#de.wikipedia,[etc.]
