Stewards/Elections 2017/Coordination

The steward elections are coordinated on #wikimedia-stewards-elections^connect, users interested in helping out should consider joining the channel to better coordinate and receive the feed or relevant recent changes.

• Make an edit notice for Template:Stewards/Elections 2017/Voters/Check to explain how the checking works: two years ago checks copied over stuff from the vote pages, moved users manually between the sections, etc.

Translations

• Get all CentralNotice translations from last year back Stewards/Elections 2016/Translation/CentralNotice / Stewards/Elections 2016/Translation/CentralNotice / etc.

• Import old translations. This year we switched to a new system, to avoid having to create all the pages again every year with the same content and then copying all translations, standing helplessly before messages where dates were translated etc. etc.
  • Stewards/Elections 2017: The text & translations of the SE main page should now be provided by {{Steward elections}}. The old "Introduction" page (e.g. Stewards/Elections 2016/Introduction) is integrated into it.
  • Guidelines page: now from {{Steward elections guidelines}}.
  • Introduction at the top of the confirmation page: previously Stewards/Confirm/Introduction16 and Template:Se2016 statements page, now {{steward confirmations}}.
  • {{Steward elections questions}}: successfully migrated from previous javascript system
  • Template:Steward election status: changed to use Translate extension. Old translations can be copied from this revision.

Done It is likely that some languages that do not use Latin characters such as Arabic, Persian or Malayalam have not been well translated, so they are likely to be corrected by their native speakers (if any). Alvaro Molina (Let's Talk) 04:18, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
