- Personal info: (English)I am AmandaNP (formerly DeltaQuad). I have been an Ombudsperson for the past 2 years - which I am stepping down from - and have been a CheckUser since 2012 and an oversighter since 2014 on the English Wikipedia. I became a bureaucrat in spring 2019. I also served on the Arbitration Committee for 4 years. I also develop for UTRS and w:WP:ACC which are becoming global projects. Most of my work over the past year has been related to blocking lock evading sockpuppets and then having to notify a steward to lock them. I also have engaged in crosswiki help for checkusers to help determine results. Beyond that, I have handled the English Wikipedia IPBE queue, which receives a lot of requests passed on by stewards. Lastly, I have been actively engaged in helping stewards form proxy blocks and remove the ones that are incorrectly blocked. So most of my work as a steward (if elected) would be CheckUser, Oversight, IP Block exemptions (and other permission requests), global locks and blocks. While I understand some may be concerned by my lack of crosswiki activity, I've been dealing with many smaller communities for the past 2 years on the Ombuds Commission. I hope that my work can help translate into the steward role. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 20:15, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

- Personal info: (English)Hello everyone, I am Charitwo and I've been a contributor for a little over 14 years. I started out in the very beginning with random edits and anti-vandalism work on Wikipedia, where lately I've found myself getting involved with improving bird related articles as needed as I have been a bird owner for a couple years now and it's nice to be involved with content again!
I've also spent time contributing to various parts of the project including as a local administrator at MediaWiki.org for the last 7 years and spent a year as freenode staff (directly assisting projects including ours) and then a year as a WMF group contact on IRC under the nickname
c
where I am still very active helping with channel moderation and access mod duties across several channels including #wikimedia-stewardsconnect and #wikimedia-gsconnect and as a global op maintaining the project wide ban list along with making the current group contacts workload a little easier! With the advent of a global pandemic I began working from home in March and found myself with more free time to focus on another aspect of volunteering on-wiki due to the added availability and flexibility of working from home. So I'd like to put my experience back into the community as a steward.
While my cross-wiki activity on WMF has been sporadic, I do already have extensive experience dealing with cross-wiki spam, vandalism, and long term abuse as a Volunteer Spam Task Force (VSTF) (which is now called SOAP[!?]) member for Wikia/Fandom accumulating over 100K+ global edits on 300K+ wikis over two years with performing an innumerous number of blocks, checkusers, deletions, and oversights. Their policies regarding usage and privacy are not unlike the policies here.
If elected, my focus will be on teaming up with the existing Stewards in keeping the queues much more manageable. The various queues under Steward requests get backlogged and we can make a bigger impact this year by having a strong, dedicated team. Like others I am available on IRC at the aforementioned channels for any issues that may require immediate attention.
I hope my longevity with the project, the number of areas of contributed to during that time and my experience with cross-wiki cleanup in general should be sufficient for election in addition to my meeting the all the requirements for candidacy. I look forward to providing the same dedication I've put in other areas of our community into stewardship. - Questions: See Stewards/Elections 2021/Questions#Charitwo

- Personal info: (English)Hi. I'm DannyS712. I spend a lot of my time dealing with spambots and LTAs, both as a global sysop and as a local sysop on a number of wikis. If you want to know which wikis I have advanced rights on, see my user page here on meta, or my global account info (Special:CentralAuth/DannyS712). Xtools says I have over 2400 edits to Steward requests/Global, where I frequently report accounts and IPs for stewards to lock/globally block.
I know that stewards often have to deal with sensitive information; I have experience dealing with sensitive information as an OTRS agent, an Oversighter on Wikidata (though I've only been an OS there since December 2020), and as a member of the account creation team on enwiki.
When I'm online, I can usually be reached on IRC, and #wikimedia-stewards is one of the channels I idle in. I have noticed times when there is an ongoing cross-wiki vandal and no stewards are available, and while this is perfectly understandable (stewards are volunteers) I think it would be beneficial to expand the steward ranks.
I am a volunteer MediaWiki developer with +2 rights, and if I become a steward I can look for places where stewards' workflow can be improved either via user scripts or improvements to the relevant MediaWiki core/extension code.
I'm happy to answer questions. - Questions: See Stewards/Elections 2021/Questions#DannyS712

- Personal info: (English)Hello, I'm Klein Muçi! I'm an administrator and interface administrator on SqWiki and SqQuote. I've been a member of the wiki community for around 8 years now and gradually I've levitated towards the technical side of the project. Given that the Albanian wiki community is a small one and the tech-savvy community is even smaller, I tend to look after everything tech-related including extensions, tools, modules, bots (I have an approved ToolForge account), system messages, edit filters and interface changes in regard to projects standardization and new-user friendly optimization. I do enjoy taking part in global discussions and I've been part of some of those on here (Meta) regarding auto-translations for system messages, talk page infrastructure, Abstract Wikipedia/Wikilambda and most importantly the support of module/template globalization. I spend much time with citations infrastructure myself (most of my interactions with the EnWiki community are in regard to that concept and the responsible module, CS1) so M/T globalization is a project I'm much fond of because of that. In the Albanian community, I've been part of many physical wiki workshops and edit-a-thones where I offered technical support on different wiki subjects, starting from basic wikiediting to concepts related to Wikidata. Now I'm eager to interact in a bigger scale regarding standardization projects and to generally learn more about other wiki communities. I can interact in English (and of course in Albanian) in a native level. I also know Italian in a decent manner. This is my first time submitting myself as a Steward candidate so the overall text template might appear strange to the eyes of more veteran users here as I'm not yet familiar with the procedures or technical templates for that. (I would greatly appreciate some help.) If elected, I'd use the opportunity to learn more about the global wiki community and hopefully help small wikis (preferably Wikipedia's sister projects) to catch up with bigger ones on technical aspects and crystallize their active wiki communities better. Hopefully even my community (Albanian) indirectly by encouraging them to be more active on global discussions (even though we're a small wiki) given that they would have users who would be in the positions of Stewards. Trying to help in making the global language-barrier thinner on a technical aspect is also a sort of resolution (hence the support for module/template globalization). Of course I'd also volunteer on helping on general Stewards' duties when possible. - Klein Muçi (talk) 02:29, 24 January 2021 (UTC)

- Personal info: (English)I was a steward in the past, but I made some mistakes, for which I apologize. I am, though, hoping to ask for another chance at continuing; for the last two years since not having the tools I have kept crosswiki monitoring, with a bit of assistance from global rollback, but it gets frustrating when LTAs or casual wiki-hopping vandals keep disrupting when no one who could stop them is around, and just rolling their edits back only works temporarily. I primarily dealt with spambots when I could lock them, and for the past two years I still reported them. I also handled the aforementioned long-term disruptors, but currently I block them locally where I could, before informing others (along with the usual sysop vandalism etc. blocks/deletions, whereas on small wikis it's just reversions/taggings).
I've generally been a gnome throughout the fifteen years I've been registered, fixing markup and typos along with the administrative tasks mentioned above, and I also like keeping an eye on otrs' info-en queue, while responding to oversight/suppression requests too. I've always welcomed feedback on any of my actions, and while two years ago there seemed to be some miscommunication, I'd still like to ask anyone for feedback at any time of the year, as one can only improve and ameliorate through such assessments.
If given another chance I will strive to avoid the mistakes committed in the past, and would hope that they weren't the kind that would preclude the possibility of another chance. I mostly dealt with the spambot problem (by also checkusering to find bot farms), and would be interested to continue doing so, along with SRP/SRG etc. I think I can be more effective with the tools than I am currently. Please go through my logs (1, 2, 5000 entries each) if desired, but I hope that, even if there are mistakes among them, I can become better in the future.
Thanks. ~Lofty abyss 23:52, 31 January 2021 (UTC) - Questions: See Stewards/Elections 2021/Questions#Lofty_abyss

- Personal info: (English)Greetings and thank you for participating here. I'm Operator873. I created my acount in 2008, but was only an avid reader for many years. In 2017, I became active on the English Wikipedia. I worked mostly anti-vandalism in the beginning, but then became involved with OTRS (which I am no longer active) and ACC (with which I still serve). In June of 2018, I became active on the Simple English Wikipedia and grew to enjoy being active in global efforts. I consider the Simple English Wikipedia my home wiki. In November 2018, I stood for consideration as a sysop on the Simple English Wikipedia and was successful. In early 2020, I became a CheckUser with unanimous support.
Globally, I work to detect and remove spam as well as the associated spambots. I am currently a Global sysop and use that tool kit in this effort. I very much enjoy working with the smaller communities and admire the dedication of those Wikipedians. I am very active on IRC. I develop Bot873 (known as GlobalSysBot on IRC) to assist the Global sysops. I use SWViewer as well as the CVN network to assist in monitoring the smaller communities. As a Steward, I would continue and expand my effort against spam, doing LWCU work, combat LTA activities (locks and gblocks), and serve the global community's requests. Like many other Stewards, I would make myself immediately available for assistance via IRC as needed.
Thank you kindly for your consideration! Operator873talkconnect 22:05, 19 January 2021 (UTC) - Questions: See Stewards/Elections 2021/Questions#Operator873

- Personal info: (English)Hello, I'm Stanglavine, from Brazil. My home wiki is Portuguese Wikipedia, but I am also active on Wikidata and sometimes in Commons. Wikimedian since 2014, I was away between 2016-2017, returning in 2017's last quarter and staying active until now (except for a couple of months in early 2020). I speak Portuguese natively, but I can read English and Spanish fine, although my writing is not perfect.
I'm a sysop, bureaucrat and checkuser in ptwiki and sysop in Wikidata. In these projects, I work in many areas (SPI, processing requests, etc). Globally, I assist small wikis by tracking vandalism, spam, and long-term abusers. As a global sysop, I routinely block spambots, spam-only accounts and vandals, while removing their edits. Sometimes local actions are enough, but in many times (maybe most of them) they move elsewhere, and global blocks/locks are needed. Due to my work, I constantly make requests for stewards, some onwiki and others on IRC (quick requests).
As a steward, I will be able to work more efficiently (as an example, loginwiki checkuser is very useful with spambots) and I will help with the steward requests backlog. Working together and with my experience as a GS, CU today and oversighter and global renamer in the past, I know many of the routines and procedures of steward's work. When online (~15:00-03:00 UTC), I'm always on IRC and intend to help with quick or urgent requests.
I'm happy to answer any questions and thank you for appreciation. Regards, Rafael (stanglavine) msg 22:46, 15 January 2021 (UTC) - Questions: See Stewards/Elections 2021/Questions#Stanglavine

- Personal info: (English)Hello, folks! My name is Lucas Teles, volunteer since 2007 and I was a Steward between 2012 and 2020 (See 2012 election and last year confirmation page). I left the Steward group last year in good standing for not being able, at that moment, to cope with somethings going on on personal and professional lives. I had to save more time until things were settling down and I believe these issues are now completely in the past. I feel like I should explain a little why I had to leave the group that time. Last year, I was hired by a large Hospital in my city at the intensive care unit and everything was new for me; had to study and work more and it was mentally and physically stressful. That unit would later become a unit designed to treat patients with COVID and then I was sure I made the right decision. At that time, I was also working as a Wikimedia Foundation contractor as a community liaison in Portuguese language for the Wikimedia 2030 Strategy Process. For that, I decided to give me a partial "break" and reduce my volunteer work, but I still could help as a member of Ombuds commission, admin on Portuguese wiki, Meta and Commons.
Being on the "other side" and having to request stewards to do things that I used to do for years served as a learning experience and allowed me to relive that position. I believe it was a valid experience that put myself in the shoes of other volunteers that usually see themselves in need of Steward assistance. Today, I still work at the same Hospital, but with more experience and able to spend more time with those things that I enjoy, like being a Steward. I am not a foundation contractor anymore, so I have more availability. For this year, I plan to be a little bit more active as a Steward than I was before. I will be resigning from two positions in order to better focus. I am in my third term as a Ombuds commission member and a sysop from Commons since 2015, but I am leaving those groups this year.
I am currently active as an admin and crat at Portuguese Wikipedia, admin on Meta and Global rollbacker. I can be found via IRC and use to watch countervandalism and spam detection channels. I also use SWViewer to watch small wikis. If elected, I plan to help on that area with Steward tool, but also focused on checkuser and oversight duties. So, if community believes I am still trusted and could help as a Steward, I will be happy to be back at work!—Teles «Talk ˱C L @ S˲» 15:53, 17 January 2021 (UTC) - Questions: See Stewards/Elections 2021/Questions#Teles

- Personal info: (English)Hello, I'm Wiki13 from the Dutch Wikipedia. I'm also reasonably active on Wikidata and from time to time also contribute to other projects like Wikimedia Commons or MediaWiki.org. In these projects I tend to do many different things, most often this is performing maintenance, investigating sockpuppets or processing requests as administrator. I've been contributing to the Wikimedia projects since 2009. Since 2012 this has been in more global manner, at which point when I joined SWMT. In the years since then I have been global rollbacker and global sysop (with some inbetween periods).
As part of SWMT I do a lot of global work. Which involves reverting vandalism (using SWViewer), removing spam, blocking LTA's where I can to prevent more damage. Due to the nature of this kind of work I work a lot with the stewards already. This means requesting an action either on the Steward request pages or via IRC (such as oversight requests). As I have been part of the movement for quite some time I'm quite aware of the policies that apply to stewards in their daily work, such as the Access to nonpublic personal data policy, the Oversight policy, the Stewards policy and the CheckUser policy.
As steward my intent is to start working in the areas I have experience in (vandalism, spamming, LTAs) and expand slowly into other areas where help might be needed.
For the sake of transparency, I also ran for steward in 2018, albeit unsuccesfully.
If there any questions I'm happy to answer them. Kind regards, Wiki13 (talk) 19:31, 28 January 2021 (UTC) - Questions: See Stewards/Elections 2021/Questions#Wiki13
