Tajik Wikimedia conference

Tajik Wikimedians: Exploring New Horizons: A conference held at the Tajik National University in December 2023, attended by over 100 participants. At the conference, the Tajik Wikimedian UG members and Wikimedians from different communities talked about Wikimedia projects and what might happen with Wikimedia-related topics in Tajikistan in the future.
The event was held at Tajik National University on December 20, 2023. It aimed to promote Wikimedia projects and free content sharing in Tajikistan. We wanted to blend Tajikistan's values into Wikipedia, highlighting its culture and progress online.
The event encouraged the use of Wikimedia resources in education, cultural centres, and universities. We discussed how these resources could change education by offering lots of free information.
This event highlighted how Wikimedia can help Tajikistan grow educationally and culturally. It's a big step for Tajikistan's involvement with Wikimedia.
Meeting with Tajik National Encyclopedia

Meeting with Tajik National Encyclopedia: A collaboration meeting resulting in mutual cooperation between Wikipedia and the Tajik National Encyclopedia.
On December 22, 2023, the Tajik Wikimedians User Group and representatives from the Tajik National Encyclopedia, led by Dr. Nour Mohammad Amirshahi, convened in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The meeting aimed at fostering collaboration between Wikipedia and the Tajik National Encyclopedia. Key initiatives were agreed upon, including the donation of encyclopedia entries to Wikipedia, the appointment of a designated individual for entry transfers, workshops on writing encyclopedia entries, and inviting Tajik National Encyclopedia employees to Wikimedia events. These collaborative efforts signify a significant step towards enhancing knowledge sharing and enriching content accessibility for both platforms.

On December 21, 2023, Tajik Wikimedians Mohammad Heidarzadeh and Mohsen Salek featured on Tajikistan's National Radio, spotlighting Wikimedia projects and celebrating Yalda Night. Their discussion underscored Wikipedia's importance in preserving Tajik culture and history, promoted Wiki Loves Monuments for showcasing Tajikistan's heritage, and highlighted the cultural significance of Yalda Night. This radio appearance widened outreach, ensuring broader community engagement beyond urban centers.

School Visit: A visit to a school in Hisar, Tajikistan, aimed at spreading awareness about Wikipedia among students.
Members of the Tajik Wikimedians User Group embarked on a visit to No. 1 school in Hisar, Tajikistan, to enlighten young students about Wikipedia and Wikimedia projects. Engaging with both third and fifth-graders, the team, led by Anastasia Lvova, encouraged interactive discussions to kindle the students' curiosity and foster awareness about Wikipedia's role in knowledge acquisition. By bridging the gap between languages and promoting critical thinking, this event aimed to empower students to explore and utilize Wikipedia as a valuable educational resource. The visit served as a significant step in raising awareness about Wikimedia projects among Tajikistan's youth, nurturing a culture of inquiry and learning beyond conventional educational boundaries.
