Talk:Art+Feminism User Group/Reporting/Metrics2020
@Masssly: Please how do I calculate for the newly registered and the repeat organisers? And how can I insert the map which indicates the Art and feminsim events which occurred in all countries?
- Hi User:Celestinesucess. Thanks for starting to compile the report. —M@sssly✉ 11:48, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
Repeat organisers
editDo you still have access to Streak? You'd need to download the data on the current and previous year's campaigns into separate sheets in the same workbook, and make a comparison. You could do that and share the document with me so we can check it together. —M@sssly✉ 11:53, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
Map
editThe map is made by adding coordinate locations of the campaign's events into w:Template:Location_map. Please note that this template is on Wikipedia: it doesn't work on Meta. So you'd have to create the map on Wikipedia and then make it compatible to display in Meta (as the report is on Meta) using Special:ExpandTemplates. Here is what you could do as a first strep:
- Create a spreadsheet with all the location_names of the events in one column (e.g. AITI-KACE - Advance Information Technology Institute - Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence) and the next column containing the location_coordinates (e.g. 5.559618, -0.191793). User:Sunkanmi12 and User:Kinvidia already started compiling the locations sometime ago so you may easily get the majority of them via Wikidata. If you prefer to not use Wikidata that's also fine.
- Once you're certain that you have all the locations and theior geocodes, create a map using Template:Location_map.
- If it renders well on Wikipedia, use Special:ExpandTemplates to make the Wikipedia wikitext compatible for Meta.
Feel free to share the spreadsheet with me so that I could comment if something isn't right. I'll be on standby to throw more light on the above steps if need be. —M@sssly✉ 12:18, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Celestinesucess: Please change the map description in w:Template:Art+Feminism_User_Group/Reporting/Metrics2020/Map from "Art+Feminism User Group/Reporting/Metrics2020/Map (Earth)" to "Location of Art + Feminism events in 2020". See Template:Art+Feminism User Group/Reporting/Metrics2019/Map.
- Add Attendance (number of participants). The color codes let's people know how many people attended the events.
- And also, where possible, use the exact names for the locations where the events happened. E.g. Instead of the "Philippines", it probably could have been at the "National Library of the Philippines". —M@sssly✉ 11:31, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Masssly: noted with thanks.Celestinesucess (talk) 11:35, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Masssly: some of the events I find it challenging to find their exact locations. For instance, with the Philippines event's outreach board Outreachboard Link, the exact location where the event happened was not stated there. And some events, in the case of the vent that happened in Instanbul, does not have an outreach dashboard link, so it is very hard for me to tell where exactly the event happened.Celestinesucess (talk) 11:50, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- If it's not possible to find the exact location then you can use the city. —M@sssly✉ 13:28, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
Map Conversion Error
edit- @Masssly: I have finished updating the map here Artandfem2020map with all the coordinates and it renders well on Wikipedia. However when I try to copy the wiki mark up and paste it in this tool to convert it into the meta equivalent it gives me this error: "Lua error in Module:Location_map/multi at line 143: Unable to find the specified location map definition. Neither "Module:Location map/data/World" nor "Template:Location map World" exists." I am not sure where the problem is coming from.Celestinesucess (talk) 20:10, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- I'm not sure why but will take a closer look at it. —M@sssly✉ 12:46, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
- Check Tech#Expand_templates
- Ammarpad and I discussed this issue further off list. I'm happy to share with you how he was able to troubleshoot if you're interested. —M@sssly✉ 22:32, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
- I am interested please. Celestinesucess (talk) 10:09, 29 October 2020 (UTC)

- Check Tech#Expand_templates
- Colors: I looked at a sample of 5 pogs and realized that 2 of the events, "Accra" and "Lima", were mis-colured. Please take a close look at the numbers of participants in the dashboard and apply the right color for those two and others that may have the same issue.
- The geocodes for "Instituto Moreira Salles" event doesn't seem right. I can see that it's been placed in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. —M@sssly✉ 12:27, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for the correction. I took a look at the color pogs again and you are right. The pog for Lima was supposed to be purple since the number of participants is 18. But the pog for Accra is blue which is correct because the number of participants is 8.Celestinesucess (talk) 21:07, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
Events that didn't happen
edit@Celestinesucess: I forgot to mention this, but in the dashboard, included are events that didn't happen although they were created. Especially for this round, many of the events didn't happen because of COVID-19. So, please update all the numbers by making sure that you exclude all such events. One way to know that is to look out for events that had no edits. —M@sssly✉ 18:07, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

3268 Editors on Dashboard
edit@Celestinesucess: This number on the dashboard seem to include editors in events that didn't happen. Please specify actual number of editors in events that did happen. -—M@sssly✉ 17:36, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
Intro text
editPlease add a short intro text summarizing the numbers, and add also a new section for the detailed outcomes. (See the previous year's report. —M@sssly✉ 13:31, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
Wikidata Dashboard and Deleted Articles
edit@Masssly: Please how do I calculate for the deleted articles? And is there a dashboard for the Wikidata statistics, Kindly share the link with me so I can check it out and know the number of Wikidata items that were improved or created, thank you. Celestinesucess (talk) 22:04, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
- You can find list of articles that have been tagged for deletion here. Verify whether those articles have actually been deleted. Some were challenged and have remained. I think it's also possible to grab the list from the spreadsheet data. —M@sssly✉ 17:52, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks a lot.Celestinesucess (talk) 09:48, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
Metrics Worksheet
editHello Mohammed. I'm sorry to bother you again. Please I'm I to do anything in the grants metrics worksheet here too? Celestinesucess (talk) 11:18, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- No problem. No need to worry about the worksheet. All that is left to do, if you have the capacity, is to summarize Art+Feminism User Group/Reporting/Metrics2020 into the main report --> Art+Feminism User Group/Reporting/FinalReport2019-2020#Grant Metrics Reporting Final. You could use Art+Feminism User Group/Reporting/FinalReport2018-2019 as a reference. (P.S. the order of the sections in the 2018-2019 report is not the same as the 2019-2020 one. WMF changed the format this year). —M@sssly✉ 13:20, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- Okay noted, thank you. Celestinesucess (talk) 16:49, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
