Hi Nitika and all, thanks a lot for creating this page. In my opinion it's a great start. I'm wondering if you could provide some additional information on what the goals for the different events were. So, for example, "contributing to Wikipedia" could mean lots of different things – was it the goal (a) to make people create a user account and one very small edit edit or (b) to bring them up to a level where they would do some research and add a whole paragraph or (c) etc.? There are so many things that you could aim at that I think it would be super helpful if we knew for each of these events, what exactly happened and what the organizers thought success would look like. Also, did the organizers ask the participants to sign a page with their (new) usernames? I'm asking because that's currently the only way to track new users over time (and to measure how successful the event was). Thanks again for starting this kind of documentation. I think it's highly valuable. All the best --Frank Schulenburg 21:15, 15 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Privacy Concern

Hi all, My name is Essam Sharaf, I'm the new Outreach Coordinator in Cairo, Egypt. I like the document you made here, it is extremely helpful for everyone who attempts to make outreach events for Wiki(m/p)edia in the future. I appreciate all your efforts. However, I was wondering if it was a good idea to publish the complete feedback in the public as you did. Don't you think that making some kind of documents with integrated results without publishing the personal data for the participants and thus violating their privacy would be a better idea? It was just a thought. Thank you again for this amazing documentation and good luck with the rest of the events. Essam Sharaf (talk) 17:00, 17 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
