Talk:CheckUser policy/Global CheckUser draft
Latest comment: 9 years ago by Rschen7754
Hi all, with concern around stewards leaving the +CU on loginwiki being potentially out of policy and the (hopeful!) completion of SUL finalization soon, I think now is a good time to sort out how we handle a global checkuser tool. When the current policy was ratified in 2005, there was no such thing as a global account, much less a true global checkuser (rather local checkuser on every wiki). Since we're dealing with a new thing, let's figure out how it should be used, even if the result is that it shouldn't be used at all. Ajraddatz (talk) 23:52, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hi @Ajraddatz:, I like this draft. Do you want to ping the stewards list for consensus around this? –SJ talk 09:37, 6 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hey Sj, sorry for forgetting about your earlier message. I brought this up on this list some time ago but was met with apathy; I plan on bringing the issue up again at some point in the future - probably after the elections. Ajraddatz (talk) 12:44, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
Probably need some distinction or explanation between loginwiki and global CU, since they're not exactly the same thing. --Rschen7754 05:51, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
