Going beyond the Wikimedia projects, there was also a suggestion to facilitate video transfer from YouTube to Commons. I think that part is problematic because it's not so much about facilitating than about making it quick & easy and more importantly because it's already implemented so even if it stays in the focus area I think it shouldn't be in the focus area description since it's already implemented (that ool only needs improvements so that for example always imports the subtitles if there are any). Echoing @JWheeler-WMF's response to archiving the wish about the transfer of videos from YouTube to Commons here in case others have the same concerns.
The wish will be marked as done, but will not be removed from the Better stitching between Commons and other projects focus area. This wish is representative of, and connected to, other requests aimed at integrating Commons with various Wikimedia projects. –– STei (WMF) (talk) 11:35, 17 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay that makes sense. However, what doesn't make sense I think is that this text is in the focus area description as it's not just a bad example to name there since it's already implemented but also misleading as people are going to think that doesn't already exist and then vote support for this focus area based on this facilitated misunderstanding. Please remove that part of the focus area description. Prototyperspective (talk) 19:14, 27 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
