This is a very interesting idea. It seems like a more reader-oriented version of Wikidata, which would be very useful. However, I don't think the most important part of this is the concision, but rather the idea of connecting things in a web. So I'd rather a name which focused more on the web-like nature of this than on the brevity.

The idea behind letting everyone write their own annotations was that it might be hard to find a concise text everybody agrees upon. And maybe there isn't even one perfect text. So having different texts and rating them might lead to better results. And more than this, browsing different texts might give you a deeper understanding of a topic than having only one. And one last thought: Letting everyone write their own texts makes it really easy for everyone to contribute (because they are not afraid to change someone else's text) and rating other texts might be fun. But that is just a theory. Maybe it turns out that this won't work at all and one shared text is much better. --Philanja 09:04, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

I understand; however, the general wiki-way would be to allow users to both write their own annotations and to edit other people's. This way, if I see a spelling mistake or other minor issue with someone else's annotation, I can edit it instead of writing a new, basically identical, one. -- Ypnypn (talk) 01:19, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

I agree with User:Ypnypn's point in the above section. Might I propose the name WikiWeb? I also don't like project proposals where people can only edit their own pages. We are building wikis here after all. So I'd say that anyone should be able to create, edit, work on and (sigh) vandalize pages like on all the other WMF projects. That said, this project sounds like an interesting idea, except for one thing. Once Wikidata gets advanced enough, couldn't we just use Wikidata information to automatically produce graphs?
