Question

How global locks works. And about the message on top of the contribution page saying "This account is globally locked. See global account details for more information", how is this achieved? Toadette (chat) 10:13, 26 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Too late, I now understand how locks work. ToadetteEdit (talk) 08:18, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Should we add this to the list of qualifiers for a lock?

Like when a user, who is blocked, knowingly tries to edit from other IPs to extend the autoblock to other users? I think that's a niche enough case that we don't need to add that here, and it can be resolved at the local level. – Ajraddatz (talk) 16:01, 11 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Vanished users

edit

@Pppery while I agree that such requests shouldn't really exist [1], I recently had a case (Special:GlobalRenameQueue/request/126351) where someone requested to vanish their account using Special:GlobalRenameRequest instead of Special:GlobalVanishRequest. I fulfilled the request and locked the account manually. Johannnes89 (talk) 15:25, 22 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Apparently that sometimes happens. But I think that abberation can be left undocumented. * Pppery * it has begun 15:27, 22 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
