There are about 500 RC channels on irc.wikimedia.org.
Hi! The information is very informative ... During the last four month I could not use any powerful IRC client. If I am / was lucky I could use XChat on Linux KDE. That was the best what I copuld get. Please provide the following details on a subpage of IRC channels:
- the list of the 500++ channels which are related to the work at Wikimedia Foundation wikis
- the procedure about how to add similar channels for a specific language communities
- ways how to access the channels trough a browser interface
I assume that you can provide an interface like chatwikizine .
Furthermore I assume that the access to « irc.wikimedia.org » is not blocked for web browser access as it the case at « irc.freenode.net » . Best regards

Nordic IRC-channel
At the moment there is three links to different nordic irc-channels on different places on meta: #wikipedia-skan, #nordic.wikipedia, #skandinavisk-wikipedia. All these channels is currently empty and dead. I'd like to restart an officiall nordic channel (called #wikipedia-nordic), but I am not sure what to do to start a new channel, someone here have some tips? //Moralist 14:20, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
