Talk:No joy in Maddenville, a parable
Speedy contested
editFailing WM:IP is not a speedy criteria, and in any event it isn't clear to me why this wouldn't be included in the essays category. JoshuaZ 01:41, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

The solution
editThe solution, of course, is to have all those different types of ballfields; and players and spectators who like particular games are welcome to go to those fields or not go to them, as they see fit. It's not necessarily going to hurt football if some of the fans also like basketball. And some of the players, like Michael Jordan, might also cross over to play other games. It might actually be beneficial to the town to have all of these sports, because when football season is over, people will have something else to do. After all, what are you going to do with that big ol' stadium the rest of the year? How are you going to draw the maximum tourist crowd to your town if there's nothing to attract the non-football-fans?
The lesson? Wikipedia isn't going to please everyone, because it doesn't have what everyone wants. Some people want to have a wiki for biased, unverifiable, "non-notable," etc. content that Wikipedia doesn't want to host. We should encourage them to organize new wikis for that purpose; wish them all the best; and, when mutually beneficial, collaborate on linking those projects together in new and creative ways.
