Talk:Wiki Mobile Apps Design Contest 2015

Latest comment: 9 years ago by Ravidreams

We welcome community input for this program and the contest will be launched by mid May 2015 based on the inputs.

  1. What can be the themes for this contest? For example, two major themes and app development across four major OS (Android, iOS, Firefox OS and Windows OS) can be encouraged. Completely new apps like WikiSource, implementation of a project app in a new OS or an offline version of already existing app like Wiktionary can be encouraged.
  2. What would be ideal prize range, number of prizes and other perks we can offer for the contestants? Our budget for this program is 75,000 INR.
  3. What would be an ideal timeline (30 days? 45 days?)
  4. Can teams contest? (It is usual for teams to contest in a hackathon)
  5. Recommendations for rules and judging?
  6. Recommendations for jury?

Community input can be based on these questions as a starting point. Thanks. --Ravidreams (WMIN) (talk) 09:26, 29 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ravi, et al, this is an excellent initiative and I think this can be a major turning point in how we use Wiki. Kudos for the entire idea. I will post here with a few recommendations of my own. ----Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:41, 29 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
