Disqualified Candidate
editThis message is posted on behalf of the Elections Committee:
We were made aware of the circumstances that led to Iván Martínez's late submission. After a careful review and a discussion within the election committee, and also taking into account this year's nomination period extension we regret to disqualify Iván Martínez candidacy as a result of an untimely submission. We hope to see Iván Martínez submit his candidacy in future rounds of the board election process.

The strange statement
edit"Experience in relation to ... a group that has faced historical discrimination and underrepresentation in structures of power ... ". Why does the Wikimedia Foundation need to know what candidates think about "discriminated groups"? The existence of this statement says that the creator of the statements is politically partisanship. Candidate quality
editWhat an impressive set of candidates, with such diverse lived experiences and good responses to some awkward questions. We should be so lucky to have any of these energetic and dedicated people. Spookpadda (talk) 10:18, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
Jargon
editExplanations or definitions in encyclopaedias or dictionaries should, if at all possible, not include words that a general reader would have to look up.
Two examples: With regard to languages - I can understand when a specific language and level of use is cited. I have no idea what the language codes mean and do not have time to look them up, nor should I have to. Also, candidates use terminology from their own field of work which is unfamiliar to anyone outside their professions. eg I have no idea what "financial & quant experience" means!
