1,000,000 articles
editI think we are pretty close to hitting 1,000,000 articles globally, anyone care to confirm this?? looking at the starts in sept 8th or 9th we were~18k articles away at a rate of ~3k articles a day which would roughly mean that by the 15th or 16th we should roughly be there. anyone care to take a look? today is the 14th BTW

the organization of this table is AWFUL. it jumps from 2001 to 2004 to 2003 without any order! 200.162.248.213 20:34, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)
other wikis than german and english
editWhy aren't e.g. the 100,000th and 200,000th French article listed?(spanish, dutch, italien,...)
Needs attention
editThis page looks to have fallen into disrepair. Needs weeding/reordering to give a chronological timeline. One milestone likely to come up before too long: English Wikipedia hits 1,000,000 articles more than largest wikipedia in another language193.133.69.162 12:33, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
100 millionth edit
editI think this is definitely worthy of inclusion. I think we don't have to include 90 million, 80 million etc. because 100 million is more significant. --218.186.9.1 08:27, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Move to Meta: space?
editIt seems more appropriate somehow... ----Anonymous DissidentTalk 10:58, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- It's about every project, not just Meta. 212.219.19.15 11:15, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- I understand that, but I'm not sure it is right for the Meta mainspace. ----Anonymous DissidentTalk 04:43, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed with AD. It's fine as is. I wonder if we could coordinate the total-article-count interest here -- if enough people ask for it, one should be able to reasonably guess at the total count of all wikis at a moment in time. -- sj | help translate |+

Sister projects
editIs this page only for Wikipedias? It would be nice include some numbers about the sister projects. Regards. Emijrp 20:07, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Consensus about ordering
editHi everyone, I'm new to editing Wikipedia and just got around this page (and other statistics pages). The ordering seems a bit random, e.g. in the "all" section. It starts with listing milestones for words, then articles and in the middle of there comes a record for edits. Can we get a consensus about ordering? My suggestion is to order it chronological, but with three columns and then write milestones for articles, edits and words in the corresponding column. I think that would get the best overview. /PatrikN (talk) 14:36, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
Working out the hundred thousand milestones
editI am keen to work out what were all of the hundred thousand milestones in the English Wikipedia (100,000th to 900,000th articles). Only some have been recorded (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Hundred_thousand_milestones for those I have collected so far) Is there any way to do this? Thanks Greenshed (talk) 00:54, 3 November 2015 (UTC)
- Nope (as far as I know). "Milestone articles" are hard to pin down even hours after the fact. I don't think there's any practical way to go that far back in time and determine the specific articles for those milestones. (But I could be wrong.) - dcljr (talk) 05:39, 3 November 2015 (UTC)
Improvements
editThis page may be improved to reflect milestones on the number of words, the number of Wikipedia pages or the number of Wikipedia good / featured articles. Thingofme (talk) 14:24, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
