Changes later this week
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 1 December. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 2 December. It will be on all wikis from 3 December (calendar).
Future changes
- The iOS Wikipedia app will show readers more of the article history, allowing them to see new updates and how the article has changed over time easier. This is an experiment, it will first be shown only to some iOS app users as a test. [1][2]
The Wiki Replicas can be used for SQL queries with for example Quarry and PAWS. To make the Wiki Replicas stable there will be two changes: Cross-database JOINSwill no longer work and you will only be able to query the database of the project that you used to connect to the database. This will happen in February 2021. If you think this affects you and you need help you can post on Phabricator or on Wikitech. [3]
