Language

edit
  • Is there a generally accepted norm about your language (spelling, dictionary, pronunciation)?
The province of Limburg in the Netherlands has issued a standardized spelling (called the Veldeke spelling). Limburgish is however a collection of related dialects, and spelling of words differs from town to town, as does the pronunciation. Some dialects have a dictionary.--Pahles 10:51, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No. --OosWesThoesBes 18:10, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • How do you deal with different spellings, dialects etc. (like B.E. lift and A.E. elevator)?
Each contributor can write in the dialect he/she chooses. We try to have only one dialect per article. We use redirects to include the other spelling in the encyclopedia.--Pahles 10:51, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

South Low Franconian

edit
  • Is it allowed to write in other South Low Franconian varieties? I'm specifically referring to thosefou nd in the Rhineland west and east of Düsseldörp. Also, are there any plans to integrate other idioms like the Palatinate or the Alemannic Wikipedia have done where the lect a specific article is written in is indicated at the top of the page? --Son-of-my-comfort (talk) 19:38, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
