editContributors
edit- Wikimedia Statistics can be difficult to interpret. What is your impression, how many steady contributors do you have?
- About 100 long-term, recognized contributors. Roo72 09:06, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- On the other hand, media reported about 400 of them, don't know who gave them such data. I would agree with Roo on the die-hard editor count, and would add the 300 as editors who are not die-hards, but write too often to be called "temporary". Wojciech Pędzich Talk 09:12, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- Are your contributors mostly native speakers?
- Yes, only a few that are not. Kotasik 19:01, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- Where do your contributors live (regions/country)?
- Most of our users are from Poland. Kotasik 19:01, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- Look at pl:Wikipedia:Atlas wikipedystów, most of people from other countries are native speakers (emigrants). Przykuta 20:17, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- How common is it that your contributors meet in real life?
- We have 2-3 bigger meetings per year (for ~30-100 users). Look at pl:Wikipedia:Zloty Przykuta 20:17, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

- A lot of articles are translated verbatim from en Wiki, there is a project called "Translation of the month" that coordinates translating featured articles from other Wikipedias. Roo72 09:06, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- Some users are also editing German Wikipedia and they bring us news an ideas from it. --Nux (talk) 10:11, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

- Who (else) supports you?

- What other encyclopedias exist in your language?
- There is a well-established encyclopedia by a long-term academic material publisher en:Polish Scientific Publishers PWN - probably the most recognised. There are also online encyclopedias run by a few major portals and a whole bunch of special-purpose encyclopaedias and almanachs of the Larousse king, most of which are Polish adaptations of such international titles. Wojciech Pędzich Talk 09:15, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
Content
edit- Does your edition concentrates on certain topics, like your region and language, or Latin Wikipedia on Roman history and Christianity?
- Don't think so, but we have quite a strong historical, biographical and military "sections". Roo72 09:06, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
