Usage
editThis template is used to tag approved global policies (see Category:Global policies) and rejected global policy proposals (see Category:Failed global policy proposals). For proposals under development please use {{proposal}}. Usage is as follows:
Parameters
editSupported following parameters, which can be used named or unnamed:
- type — approved/rejected
- example — yes/no
Cases
edit- {{policy-global|approved}} or {{policy-global|type=approved}} produces:
 | The following page documents an official global policy. This page has been developed and approved by the community and its compliance is mandatory for all projects. It must not be modified without prior community approval. |  |
- {{policy-global|rejected}} or {{policy-global|type=rejected}} produces:
 | This is a failed global policy proposal. There has been no community consensus to enact it as global policy. If you want to revive discussion you may use the talk page or start a discussion at Requests for comment. | |
The template also categorizes the proposal in the appropiate categories depending on the template parameters.
If you miss to state the first unnamed or |type= parameter, the template will let you know you did something wrong:
