Name

ProperNoun — add proper noun mark

Synopsis

{{ProperNoun| proper noun 1 | proper noun 2 | ... | proper noun 9 }}

Description

The difference between using this template and doing underlining the usual way is there will be a gap between adjacent proper noun marks.

Example

Typing {{ProperNoun|香港|新界|西貢|將軍澳}} produces:

香港‌新界‌西貢‌將軍澳

Note the gaps in the above example. Contrast this with 香港新界西貢將軍澳, which produces:

香港新界西貢將軍澳

This is a translation of the original documentation at the Cantonese Wikipedia, with parts that don’t apply to this wiki or this version of the template removed.

This version of ProperNoun uses Module:書名 as its backend.

History

A ProperNoun template first appeared on the Chinese Wikipedia in 2011. In 2014 it was ported to the Cantonese Wikipedia. In 2022 the version on the Cantonese Wikipedia was replaced by a module-based implementation; this is the version that’s used here.
