The Wikipedia Library/1Lib1Ref/Resources/Organizers Guide
Before the start of the campaign
- Start engaging your community about your intentions around three (3) weeks before the start of the actual campaign
- Identify what kind of event(s) is/are ideal for your community (Wikimedians or librarians or both)
- Share the how to participate guide(s) at least two (2) weeks before the start of the campaign
- Organize at least one (1) online Q&A forum/presentation before the start of the campaign, and ensure your community's achievement will be recorded on the dashboard. Add your program to any of the campaign periods below:
Note for organisers
- Showcase the use of the citation hunt tool or create a pre-populated list of articles relevant to your community that need citations.
- Show participants how to insert citation using visual editor
- Showcase how to add the hashtag #1lib1ref in the edit summary
During the campaign
- Keep sharing the how-to-participate resource materials on all available social media platforms and other selected communication mediums for your community.
- Encourage users to share their achievements on social media (to encourage others/create a sense of competition)
- Remind participants to always use the hashtag #1lib1ref, #1bib1ref or the localised hashtag for the campaign (#1x1ref)
- Keep sharing statistics via social media to encourage more participation and competition
- As an organiser ensure your are available to provide further tips and advice when required
- Reach out to the Global team or TWL team at any point during the campaign
After the campaign
- Compile all statistics
- Communicate the results to your audience and the global team
- Fill out the campaign feedback form
