Deliberations

edit

The Tuluvas Aati Month - Wikipedia Edit-a-thon was successfully held at St. Aloysius Deemed to be University on 4th and 5th January 2025. The event aimed to engage students in contributing to Wikipedia by adding new articles and improving existing ones related to Tulu culture and heritage, particularly focusing on Aati Month. A total of 10 enthusiastic students participated in this initiative, dedicating their time and effort to enhance the quality of content available on the platform. Through their contributions, participants not only enriched the information on Tulu culture but also gained valuable experience in editing and curating Wikipedia entries.

In addition to the improvements made to existing articles, some new users were introduced to Wikipedia editing during the event. The students worked collaboratively, with guidance from experts, to create well-researched and well-structured content. This edit-a-thon served as an important learning experience for the participants, encouraging them to further engage with the digital world of open knowledge and become active contributors to the global Wikipedia community. The event was a successful blend of cultural preservation and digital literacy, fostering a deeper understanding of the Tulu language and traditions among the next generation
