Introductory statement / Application summary (maximum 200 words): Why are you running for the Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee? What would you contribute? | I have been contributing to Wikipedia and its sister projects for more than 7 years. After attending, Hindi wiki conference 2018-19 and WAT 2018, I felt there is a lot of work to do in the field of awareness of Wikipedia among societies and outreach activities so, other than online editing I am more involved in conferences, meetups, GLAM, online and contests like Wiki Love Monuments, Wikipedia Asian Month 2017-18, Wikimedia Tiger project-2018-19, etc.
I was Joined to Wikipedia and Wikimedia as a Reader in the year 2011 but I have registered this account year 2016. After joining the Wikimedia Movement, I led several contests in the form of an organizer in Edit A Than and Offline, Online The event. In which Hindi Wikipedia conference Delhi 2018. And Hindi Wikipedia conference Kolkata 2019 contributed as an organizer in. I am currently contributing to the Hindi Wiki Library and Hindi Wikipedia education program as a coordinator. I am an advisor in Wikisource GLAM Heritage India Project For Hindi Wikisource. |
Please describe your Wikimedia experience (such as contributions to the Wikimedia projects, memberships in Wikimedia organizations or affiliates, experience working on conduct issues in your community, activities as a Wikimedia movement organizer, or participation in building Wikimedia policies). | My home wiki is Hindi Wikipedia. However, I am primarily active on Meta-Wiki and Wikimedia Commons of which I am a Renamer and rollbacker, VTR Member. I am a member of the Hindi Wikimedians User Group. I am also serving on the Rename Team and have resolved or renamed over 500 Users. I have completed #100WikiDays and #wikigap-challagne. I have created about 1000 articles on Hindi Wikipedia and over 500+ images of heritage sites uploaded on Wiki Commons, I am one of the top contributors from India who is involved globally in the Wikimedia movement having 50,000+ total edit counts.
I have strong background in online, outreach, and collaborative initiatives, I I happen to be the Co-founder of the wiki project Pragati which focuses on lost heritage and cultural sites in India on Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, I got a laptop Mackbook Pro under the hardware donation program during the international WikiConference India 2023 as well as I involved in many Wikipedia contests as an organizer such as Feminism and Folklore 2023, Project Tiger 2.0, Wikipedia Asian Month, International WikiGap Challenge and others |

Please briefly describe 3 situations that show how you worked on, or advised others on, a complex conduct or policy issue. How did you work with others to address the situations? | 1. Addressing Conflict in Online Communities: In an online community, I could advise on establishing clear guidelines for behavior and resolving disputes. This might involve creating a reporting system for inappropriate conduct, training moderators on conflict resolution techniques, and fostering open communication channels for community members to express concerns.
2. Improving Diversity and Inclusion U4C Policies: When addressing diversity and inclusion, I could collaborate with a team to review existing policies and recommend improvements. This might include conducting surveys or interviews to gather feedback from diverse perspectives, analyzing data to identify areas for enhancement, and working with stakeholders to implement inclusive practices and initiatives. 3. Developing Ethical Guidelines for U4C Research: If tasked with advising on ethical issues in research, I might work with a team of experts to draft comprehensive guidelines. This process would involve researching best practices, consulting with stakeholders such as researchers, ethicists, and community members, and facilitating discussions to reach consensus on key principles. |

How would you help the Universal Code of Conduct develop and improve over time? | As a Wikimedian from India, I have learned a lot from the diverse experience & U4C. Our content needs, movement challenges & work scenarios are quite different from other regions which necessitates active engagement in discussions that are going to shape the global movement. I feel responsible for sharing our experiences & thoughts to help build a pathway that caters to the needs of diverse communities in U4C. Understanding the importance of voicing regional needs and challenges, I have been an active participant of communities discussions. I am committed to investing my time & knowledge to ensure that we create a UCOC and research. |
