User:Enow97/Blog 1: My kickstart
Hello Everyone! Happy to have you here 😄!
editI am Enow Dilien Enow and I hail from Buea, Cameroon. I am an undergraduate student, pursuing my degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Buea. I started coding when I was in second year of engineering, and since then, the passion to code only kept growing.
In my free time, you’ll typically find me browsing through social media, watching movies or TV shows, or listening to music. I am passionate about singing and playing the keyboard. I also plan to learn how to play and sing African beats like afro pop, kwaito, and hip-life.
My core values
edit- Courage: Being brave and bold has always been something I cherished. I’m never scared to express my opinion, and I welcome feedback and admit when I’m wrong. After all, admitting your faults and growing as a person takes courage.
- Curiosity: I love discovering and learning new things. My desire to learn about different cultures, languages, and technologies has kept me motivated. My abilities to learn the correct thing and unlearn the wrong thing has improved my personal development, and I’ve gotten better at embracing and welcoming change.
- Challenge: I love facing my fears or challenges, cause I know they are the foundations for success in life. This quality of mine has helped me keep in mind focus, challenging myself everyday to make my life meaningful.
Why Outreachy?
editBeing accepted as an Outreachy intern is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me. I heard about Outreachy on YouTube and as I was learning about it, I became more and more interested in learning about contributing to open source.
I tried applying for the Outreachy December 2022 internship term, and I worked very hard throughout the contribution period, but I didn’t expect to be selected as an intern on the first try! Contributing to the various projects during the contribution period was a lot of fun, and it offered me the opportunity to acquire hands-on experience with various tools and technologies that I never worked with before.
The coming three months of this internship will be a wonderful learning experience for me, and I’m looking forward to it!
