Background

One of the objectives for the Chapter in 2015 is to increase contributions by the Afrikaans Wiki-community. We want to focus on this language specifically as one of the larger languages currently in South Africa. We feel that it is very important to have an Afrikaans specific project in order to achieve our goal of increased participation.

Goal

Through the introduction of an Afrikaans specific competition, we aim to increase the number of contributors / editors to the Wikipedia community and to establish a relationship with existing editors. As a Chapter, we have never had the capacity to do this before.

Plan

Activities

We want to introduce a writing competition for Afrikaans speaking contributors on a specific theme / subject. We are currently in discussions with possible partners that share our vision of furthering the language in South Africa.
