User:Rschen7754/Resigning
There are three circumstances in which I will resign a userright that I have:
- If it becomes clear to me that I do not have the time to use the right effectively, and my inactivity in that role is causing problems.
- If I feel that I have made a serious error in judgment, and/or it becomes evident to me that I have lost the trust of the community.
- The issue should be discussed in the appropriate forum, such as on my talkpage, or on the relevant noticeboard.
- If the issue is not resolved, the appropriate community rights removal process should be followed:
- On the English Wikipedia, for adminship, I will honor a recall process (details listed here), or you can file a request with the Arbitration Committee.
- Otherwise, the community request for removal of permissions should be followed. Of course, I will have my rights removed if it meets the required threshold, but if it is close, I may still consider resigning anyway.
- If by keeping the right, I would be forced to compromise my integrity, or to be associated with something that would compromise my integrity, or would call my trustworthiness as a person or to hold other advanced rights into question, or would result in unjustified risks to my personal privacy.
- I do not generally do this without warning.
