Requests for new languages/Wikiquote Sanskrit

edit

Hello, and welcome to the Meta-Wiki. I presume that the message that you left on my talkpage was in reference to the comments that I had made in the proposal you created above. Here in the Wikimedia Foundation we generally go through the Requests for new languages process by first checking to make sure that it meets some of the criteria for inclusion as defined in the Language proposal policy, and in order to see if it does we first open a test version of the wiki to be created and translated from an existing wiki (like the English Wikipedia) on the Incubator Wiki. It is highly suggested that you go there first to start a working test version of the wiki open as well as collect people who speak and know the language well to work with you on the project. Please go to this page incubator:Help:Manual first and follow the instructions there, ask around and get the wiki moving. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 07:26, 22 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion

edit

Hi, you tagged a page for speedy deletion [1] recently. Please don't use speedy tag for 6 year old pages, especially the ones in another language. Thank you. Theo10011 16:03, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wikimania 2013 Bidding

edit

Dear editor,

You are getting this message because you have edited a Wikimania bidding page for 2013.

Many have said that the bidding needs to be brought forward to give teams longer to organise the conference, to enable it to be run more professionally and smoother and to give teams more time to arrange things like sponsorship which can take significant amounts of time. This year an active effort is being made to bring the start of official bidding to before the fundraiser (around September/October, to have a longer bidding period that will run till the end of January and a decision made by the end of February.

Although this clashes with the fundraiser, the significantly longer bidding period is to give those teams from chapters involved in the fundraiser more time. It should hopefully allow teams to create better and more detailed bids. Going forward the idea would be that eventually the bidding would occur entirely before the fundraiser. I though it best to not jump immediately to this to not catch teams off guard.

Just to recap: Bidding will start in September/October and not in January

Any thoughts and comments on this would be greatly appreciated.

Please don't edit other people's comment title=Meta:Requests_for_deletion&curid=1231&diff=2623658&oldid=2623237. Theo10011 17:47, 1 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the mistake. Vibhijain 05:28, 2 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

As mentioned above, Please don't edit other people's comments [2] especially, if it's a wikimania bid from a different country. I won't keep reminding you. Theo10011 16:13, 5 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

That edit is a required one. I don't think that the bider has any problem with that. Vibhijain 16:28, 5 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
It also happens to be a bid page for a competing city in you case. To avoid any confusion, don't edit other people's bid. Theo10011 16:32, 5 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well you are right. Again sorry for that. Vibhijain 16:34, 5 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
