WLB photo-walk 2022 at Bankimnagar Forest

WLB photo-walk 2022 is a one day photography event to document the available species (especially butterfly) in the Bankimnagar Forest situated in Nadia district, West Bengal, India. The photo-walk is designed for the assemblage meet-up and knowledge sharing of Butterfly enthusiasts and experts from different corners of West Bengal.

Goal

  1. Quality picture uploading in commons also with species and subspecies categorization.
  2. Sharing concept about digital conservation.
  3. Article creation.
  4. Build and share scientific relevant knowledge.
  5. Motivate, inspire and register new wiki-contributor/ editors.

Program schedule

9:00am Self introduction and How to create an account in Wikipedia
9:30am-12:30pm Butterflying
12:30pm Onwards Group Lunch and a discussion and interactions among participants and resource person will be conducted. A

list of butterfly species will be prepared based on the sightings and photographs.

Pre-Requisites

The participants are requested to carry the following:

  • Digital camera : Please carry a macro facilitated digital camera, preferably a DSLR with Macro photography gears like (Lens: 90mm/105mm/150mm/180mm), Or Tele Photo zoom lens like (55-200/350mm Or 70-300mm) etc., flash gun, defuser.
  • Enough memory: Please ensure there is enough memory on your card.

Special Instructions

Please bring quality water bottles like (Pearlpet, Hashpet, Tupperware etc.) to avoid the throwing off of disposable bottles creating Nature pollution and violation of the rule of the garden.
