Call for Papers

edit

We invite submissions under two tracks for novel and previously published works in the area of multimodal and/or multilingual research trained or tested on Wikipedia data. See more details below; for any further information not listed below, please email the organizers.

Key dates

edit

The planned dates are as follows:

  • Paper submission date: 9 March 2022
  • Accept/Reject Notification Date: 25 March 2022
  • Workshop: virtually on April 29, 2022

Track 1: Novel works

edit

We invite submissions on novel work in the area of multimodal and/or multilingual research trained or tested on Wikipedia data.

We further encourage novel works that utilize the dataset and tasks presented in the Wikipedia Image/Caption Matching Competition associated with the workshop (more information and data can be found in the corresponding Wikimedia blog post and Kaggle page).

Although no official proceedings will be published, we require all accepted work to be uploaded to Arxiv and we will compile an arxiv index with all accepted papers (“arxiv proceedings”). Authors will still be free to submit their works in the future for conferences where arxiv publications are allowed.

Double blind reviewing

edit

Submissions will be double-blind: reviewers cannot see author names when conducting reviews, and authors cannot see reviewer names. Authors can revise their paper as many times as needed up to the paper submission deadline. Changes to the paper will not be allowed while the paper is being reviewed.

Submission Instructions

edit
  • Submission website: Papers must be submitted using the conference submission system at: https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/WikiM3L2022/ (submissions will open in January 2022)
  • Paper length: There will be a strict upper limit of 9 pages for the main text of the submission, with unlimited additional pages for citations. This page limit applies to both the initial and final camera ready version. Authors may use as many pages of appendices (after the bibliography) as they wish, but reviewers are not required to read these.
  • Style files and Template: To prepare your submission to our workshop, please use the LaTeX style files provided by ICLR 2022 at: https://github.com/ICLR/Master-Template/raw/master/archive/iclr2022.zip

Track 2: Published works

edit

To foster discussion, we invite submissions on published work in the area of multimodal and/or multilingual research trained or tested on Wikipedia data.

This is a single-blind track, i.e. paper submissions should not be anonymous and must be already accepted for publication at a peer-reviewed venue. The review process for this track will be minimal, mostly ensuring relevance to our workshop. All accepted papers will be presented as part of a virtual poster session (probably in Gathertown). Any page formatting style is allowed for submissions in this track; the authors should however append a cover page with a short paragraph with info on the venue where their submission was presented/accepted, and also very briefly discuss why they think their published paper is a good fit for the Wiki-M3L workshop.
