What is WikiArabia ?
editIt is a three-day conference where participants from the Arab region present their experiences and perspectives on Wikimedia projects in the Arab countries. It is the annual reunion of Arabic Wiki fans participating in free and open projects, including Wikipedia – the largest free encyclopedia.
How do I register for the conference?

editIf you have any experience or ideas on any of the topics related to free and open knowledge inside and outside Wikimedia projects and have any other suggestions, please don't hesitate to let us know.We will get back to you as soon as possible
What types of interventions can I provide?
editThe interventions are varied: Normal talks or interventions can last from thirty (30) minutes to an hour and a half ( 1h30) The flash talks may range from seven (7) to ten (10) minutes. There are workshops, applications, sessions and rounded tables and so on.
When does the conference start?
editThe conference begins on the 15th of October, 2021 and ends on 17th of October, 2021

editThe Deadline for submission is September 15, 2021

editThe conference is for all Arabs wherever they are, and we welcome the participation of Wikimedians all over the world
Is the conference for Arabic and its projects only?
editYes, our focus is on Arabic language in Wikipedia and sister projects, but it opens the doors to learn about other experiences in various fields in other countries and languages.
What is the point of the conference?
editThe main topic of the conference is openness: that is, the interventions will focus on openness, it is a word we used to express the free and open knowledge available to all in an open way towards modern technology and different societies, to derive unknown sciences and their definition and spread this knowledge in the Arabic language and open the entrances to all this amount of information free for everyone in this universe.
Is this conference important for me to participate?
editIf you are a fan of free open knowledge, if you are a volunteer in the Arabic Wikipedia, whatever your experience in editing in the Wikipedia encyclopedia, this conference is for you.
Why should I participate in the conference?
editThe Wikimedia community, the Wikipedia community or the wiki movement, call it as you feel comfortable calling it, is formed by collaboration, support, and voluntary contributions – you are free to contribute in any way you see fit. To speak about the conference, to publish a leaflet about the conference, to help others register for the conference, to make an intervention during the conference – all support is welcome and we need all volunteers to make the conference a success.
What is the main theme of the conference?

editThe word “openness” was mentioned in the dictionary of Shams Al-Ulum by its author, Nashwan bin Saeed Al-Humairi in 573 AH corresponding to 1177 AD.

editYou can suggest interventions that have been presented at other conferences for the benefit of the Arab community
Who are the organizers of this conference?
editThis year, a group of Algerian users volunteered to organize the conference.
On what platform will the broadcast be?
editWe acquired a domain for the conference and installed a special platform on it based on a package of free, open source and secure software thanks to the support of Algerian startups.
Is sharing a recorded video acceptable?
editWe provide live and recorded interventions, open to all suggestions for interference.
What languages are the entries translated into?
editMainly in English and French
Does the conference include training workshops?
editWe will provide a training channel for new and experienced people to refresh their knowledge with new methods.
By following this conference, will I be able to edit on Wikipedia?

Is the conference for Arabic Wikipedia only or for all Arabic content on Wikipedia and other projects?
editIt's open to all content and projects.
What's the difference between Wikipedia and Wikimedia?
editWikimedia is the organization that operates Wikipedia's servers and ensures that content is available on the network in the required quality anytime, anywhere.
Can my intervention be presented without showing my face?
editYes
Is it possible to watch what is presented in the conference after it is over?
editWe will publish all the videos during the conference in a new channel on YouTube under the title WikiArabia- and we will publish all previous videos of the previous Arab conferences in this channel.
What languages are used ?
editWe will provide translation into Arabic – English and French only
How can i communicate with the conference organizers?
editAll channels available to communicate with the organizers are open, do not hesitate to communicate with the community.
